spectrum mixing

i was just wondering i have 200 watts of cfl (2700k) in my grow cab and i wanted to add two 2ft t8 lights in there aswell they are the white clour i wanted to know would this make any difference?

I'm Sure what Will happen I'm doing the same thing. Four 42watt CFL's 2700K
at The same time I'm using 2 75watt Cool Blue Florsecents at 5600K The results have been good so Far very very bushy plants

fluro tubes are best for veg imo....i've never used cfls before, but i'm very impressed with veg results of my buddys grow

A lot of people use both...cfls for side lighting and t8 for top

i wanted to do it the other way around cfls on top and the t8 on the sides with a few cfls

2700K is the wrong spectrum for vegging...you need 6500K daylight for best results. The 2700K are for flowering period.

I can't say i've tried this, but several people on here have recommended to throw a couple of 5500k or 6400k lights in with the 2700k ones when flowering because they've done it and had good results - supposedly the plants like a mixed spectrum when flowering?

The 4100K coolwhite bulbs are what you use. The plant better utilizes the colour spectrum...apparently the 4100K spectrum provides all the wavelengths of colour that the plant best absorbs for photosythensis. I don't know how true it is...but i do use 4100K bulbs for both veg and flowering cycles as extra light, and i did notice a better result of growth compared to just using the 6500K during veg. I never flower with cfl's, HPS all the way for that...buds are biger and denser.

During your seedling and veg cycles you do want to concentrate more on the blue end...so for every 3 6500K bulbs have 1 4100K. For flowering do the same thing, 3 2700K for every 1 4100K.
