Getting the sticky off your fingers after harvest - Oil

Can't remember how or where I found this idea years ago, might have been right here, so I won't claim that I discovered it. :eyesmoke: Just haven't heard anyone mention it lately.

Lots of people wear gloves, which is probably best if you have them. I ran into the problem once or twice of wanting to start harvesting, but had work or plans right afterwords, and no gloves. Usually it takes a while to get your fingers to smell and feel normal after harvesting, even if you wash and scrub them for a while.

So I started pouring a little vegetable oil on my hands. It can be olive oil, canola, whatever. Then I rub my fingers together with the oil for a minute, which starts to make the resin ball up and come right off your skin. Then use a lot of soap to wash the oil and crap off. Hands are not sticky and smell normal. Repeat if your fingers still stick together. Sometimes I need to do it twice to get it all.

Try it out if you don't have gloves around and want to harvest. I swear it works even though it sounds like some crazy shit. Been doing it for years. Somehow the oil binds with the resins and chemistry magic happens or something.... :joint::-o

Please explain this coffee filter method, it sounds strangely awesome. Does it have to have used coffee grounds in it, or emptied out? What's the secret?

I have used this with a dry paper towel, followed immediately by orange GoJo. Like it never happened. Not for the faint of heart if you hate chemicals though. Feels and smells just like WD40. Note the manufacturer :)

Why wash it off when you can rub it in? My newest technique is to rub my hands down with my home made MMJ salve after trimming. The coconut oil in my salve actually allows me to "rub in" the resins collected on my fingers. As an added bonus, your hands will feel nice 'n relaxed even after hours of trimming.

This probably isn't the best option if you are trying to cut smell... For that, I use the OP's method with cheap veg oil.

Looks like there's a lot of ways to do it. I'm going to just start trying things randomly. Beer, sour cream, brake fluid, small animals...
