Sorry if I posted this in the wrong topic..im new to this fourm andn dident see a growbox section. ..so this is what im working with...I plan on taking out the shelves and covering all the insides with mylar...but other than that im not quite sure what to do...like I said im a noob and this is my first grow....what I really need help with is the lighting. .I have no idea what kind of lights to use or how many to use...what would you guys recomend?...second fans..I understand the consept but not sure about placement or type...ive seen people put there fans in a lot of different palaces but what way is the best?...I plan on growing with fertilized soil how many plants do you guys think lwould be good for this box?...and how come some boxes ive seen have a pane of glass in them? Would I need one?..I still have a lot to learn and looking forward to getting some feedback..thanks

You need to do tons of research and preperation before you start grow. and that box will only last so long, the plants will get bigger and need more space for budding. This will be like only working for maybe a month.
Goodluck and remember to try and even write down alot of notes and try to get as much knowledge you can before you grow.

nice guide that can answer many basic questions ..
but in general you will need to make a environment for that plant close to what it will have outdoors, grow medium/light/wind/fresh air/co2 etc etc.

There is a sticky-ed post in Newbie Central labeled "Free Grow Videos" I believe. Watch all of them, then watch them all again. You'll see what lighting is used(HiD, CFL) and when there used(Veg, Flower). You'll also learn about how to vent the cabinet, how to keep temps in order and odor controlled(carbon filter).
Are you planning on having a veg and flower room in the box? Or just flower in it? This is what I would do with the cab:
1. Install a quite bathroom exhaust fan(inside for stealth), Plan out ducting(Carbon filter placement, are you going to use a air cooled hood?
2. Mylar it up, light proof it.
3. Install a 250w HPS(Cool tube)
4. Get 2-3 gallon smart pots
5. Use Fox Farms Ocean Forest Soil
6. Get a Ph up/down control kit and learn how to use it PHing your water.
7. SCRog it! Learn to scrog properly and your 2 to 3, even 1 plant can fill that cab out with a level canopy of bud.
8. Do the research! Learn it

The size of the plants, come harvest time, can easily be controlled by when they are forced into flowering. Why tell him the cabinet will olny work for a month? Thats what he has to use, and he can learn to make the best of the small space.

Ah, im just fucking with ya. Good luck on your cabinet and i'll continue to help the best I can. Im still new myself, on my 4th crop, each one has gotten progressively better. I use a small grow tent similar to the size and shape of your cabinet. I learned from watching all the videos I could find and reading all I could find. My favorite video is the I Grow Chronic, with the guy painted green. You'll learn a lot from that video.
Oh yeah, maybe a moderator can move this thread into the appropriate forum and sooth some ruffled feathers?

You already got some good info so far on here. I am however a little worried that you have done no research on the basics of growing. There is so much info on the net you can read, i would suggest you get a 'The grow bible' by Gregg Green. Also go onto youtube type in 'grow room set-ups' - that will also help you. Also if and when you have decided what strain your growing, research as much as you can about that strain and that is when you can start to ask questions to people who have had previous experience on growing that strain. The grow box is ok for veg i guess but flowering i would use a bigger grow tent or a more open space. CFL 100watt (actual minimum) for veg and HPS 400-600watt for flower. Id get big fans and place one near top for exhaust, and one near bottom for intake of freshair. Or even two of each, more airflow the better. Mylar everything. Then Id spend the bucks for one or two 135watt LED UFO's.
