Noobie needs help please!

Hi guys, I'm a new grower on my first grow, I have a 600w hps and 400w hps both dual spectrum, it's an indoor grow, in my attic in a grow tent I have 9 plants in 10L pots we are using the full dutch pro nute range, growing in canna coco, we have a problem with low temps at night, which we have finally sorted with a cheap fan heater on low suspended above lights so it warms air with out cooking plants, we have a humidifier running 24/7 as well as a pedastal fan, we don't have a regular feeding schedule at the moment and we are just giving them ph 5.8 water until we can figure out what went wrong

I'm new to all this, I have had help from other growers and their system works for them but obviously not for me

We made a HUGE mistake from what I've read so far by following dutch pro feed guide and started off with a 1.8 ec which i now know is too high we use 5.7-5.8 ph, I will upload the pics I have taken and hopefully we can get some solutions!, If there is anything else you need to know I'll answer what I can!

P.S when I say low temps at night, they were 6-7 degrees, as I live on a mountain in Wales and we have been vegging 18/6 for 9 weeks so something went really wrong!

the ph is too low , is need to be 6.5 and always add half of recomanded dose per litre of nutrients . i know you are upset , but start another grow right now , with 4 weeks of veging 24/24 , and in 3 month you will harvest. you have good lights !

see again I followed chart for ph, I'm in the uk, does that make a difference? and can the ones I have be saved?, I've basically spent roughly £1500 on this so need to recover some to buy for next grow!

What ec should I use? start at 0.8-1.0?

I just want to know what a " Noobie" is LOL. I use lemon juice for adjusting my ph.I let the plaints rest for four hours in veg. two or three weeks then twelve on twelve off .Good Luck! Oh you need good dirt, not from your back yard, and a little more water.

oh man sorry i didn't read with attention , now i see you grow in cana coco you're ph is okey ,first i was thinking you grow in soil, don't add any nutrients in water, eventually flush with just water. growth was better if you used soil for this 1st grow...

what is youre temperature with lights on? i don't know for sure but i think you're yield it will be to low for making some cash..idk..

Hmmm...I just read in another thread that coco ph should be like hydro. If that's true, where you are is good and 6.5 is too high. I'm hydro so I can't verify that for you, but I'm sure someone else with a lot more experience in all mediums will chime in here.

If new growth is healthy, then keep growing and these plants will recover from the nute burn. The bottom leaves will eventually fall off, and you'll never know there was a problem. The damaged leaves will never go back to being healthy leaves -- but new growth should be fine if you've corrected the problem.

it's not so much cash, even just free smoke, so I can spend on plants instead and with lights on we are around 25-26 celcius, and a noobie, is like a newbie but I fucked it up lol

yeah man, i hate to say this but those plants look pretty freekin' sad, ...it looks like it'd be possible to nurse them back to health but if you are in flower already then this crop is pretty much a write-off.

...don't let that beat you down either, you made a VERY ambitious start for a first-timer and while it isn't turning out the way you would have liked, i'm sure you have learned, and are learning, a shitload.

...you have to be prepared for losses in this game my friend, it's just part of what we do and sadly, it's when we are new that we suffer more losses than at any other time, ...this is how we learn.

...anyway, if i were you i'd try and trim as much of that dead shit off as i could and i'd do a lot of hoping.

btw, if you are interested in how to do this in an almost foolproof way then i'd suggest you try coco hempy growing and if you don't know what hempy's are then you will be amazed once you start looking into hempy growing.

hempy's are a form of passive hydroponics and it's an adaptation of technology that's been around for thousands of years, basically any water-tight container can be turned into a hempy, here's one made from a Folgers coffee can, note the single drainage hole about 2 inchs up one side, what you do is you fill the container up to that hole with something like hydroton, lava-rock, grorocks, or even 3/4 inch gravel, then you fill the rest of the container with your coco and pot up your plants.

once the plants have been potted up you water them until you see water coming out of that single drainage hole. ...what this does is it creates a 'mini' reservoir at the bottom of each pot and because it's small and will be consumed quickly by the plant, it won't sour without aeration.

anyway, it takes about a week or two for the roots to reach that mini reservoir but once they do it becomes virtually impossible to overwater them and the plants grow very fast after that.

...you might also look to simplify your feeding regimen until you gain some experience with the plants, in very short order you will be astute enough to be able to recognize problems and the causes of those problems and how to deal with each, ...if you can get your hands on a bag of MaxiBloom and a silica product like Silica Blast or Protekt you will have ALL the food you will need for at least a few cycles and that will put a few successful crops under your belt and give you some experience and some confidence. ...only then will you be able to begin adding additives and KNOW whether or not they are benefiting you, believe me, i know MANY growers who use nothing but MaxiBloom throughout the life cycle, from clone to harvest, and have been doing so for years.

btw, from looking at your plants it looks like they have been fried by too much heat AND too much food and possibly a ph issue, ...MANY problems are caused by ph so it's important to check the ph of your runoff too, if the ph of the runoff is higher than the ph of the nutrient solution you poured in then you have salt build-up and need to flush the crap out of them.

don't be discouraged grasshopper, almost all of us fall the first time we climb onto the bike, just don't give up and you'll be a cultivator before you know it.

ps: in looking for a picture to illustrate that single drainage hole i came across a few pics of some plants i'd put through hell and while i don't like sharing these ugly bitch's publicly, i figured maybe it'd be good for you to see you're not alone, ...for real, we all suffer losses.

Ive grown photos and autos and 50 odd strains

In the winter i go from photo growing to auto growing why you ask? because its so cold here i leave my light on 20/4 only leaving my room cool 4 hours a day
with some large autos getting 3oz a plant (i have seen much more)
i normally get 2.5x9= 20-22.5oz under 1 600w hps every 10 weeks at 19% thc
I plant straight into final pots with jiffy pucks, no training and no issues specially cause im going organic

by the time you pull those plants back into full re veg. i would have already done a crop a yielded far more bud

Looks like severe nutrient burn to me. I would cut off all the dead stuff and give them a good flush. They also look kinda dry in the pictures.

yea a way to do it, tho did you consider to run the light at night so its off a day time (of course need to be light tight grow room/tent)
also work great in the summer if your fighting high temps ..

i 2nd that they are fucked from your ec being way to high from the start thats why they so burnt .i got a few friends & also my self that are using dutch pro nutes range its great stuff & value for money.
i wouldnt worry to much about the low temps as my crop just gone hit 6c while we had the cold spell in wales few wks back.
your plants should be monsters after 9 weeks veg mate but hence the high ec is why they are not.if i was u i would have flushed each plant out wth ph of 5.8 & gv a light feed & watch out 2 c if u get good new growth but if not,i hate to say this coz i know how gutting it is but bin em & start again .

yeah man, the ph CAN fluctuate, ...as the plant uptakes from the nutrient solution it takes more of the elements it needs and less of the elements it doesn't need so badly, ...this can change the ph so it's a good idea to get in the habit of checking your ph, of your nutrient solution AND your runoff, at almost every watering for a while, with a problem going on and you being a new grower it's probably a good thing that you be keeping a close eye on your babys.

as to what's the best feeding method, well, that depends on what you feed, if you go with the coco hempys and the MaxiBloom then you'll be feeding at every watering except with newly potted up plants, those you'll need to watch for a few days before the roots hit the res and they too can be fed daily.

Thanks for all the replies guys, just an update there is new growth and lights are on 22/2 and flushed them so water for a bit with no nutes i think
