Im a first time grower looking for any detailed advice i can get on installing a 60 amp sub panel in my growroom. Rooms all framed out and ready for panda rap. Just cant proceed until electrical is figured out. I have a 100 amp main that looks to be full. Confused and no knowledge of electrical work.

Electrical apprentice here. Couple of questions for you. Are you living in this house? If so is it baseboard heat? Do you have a hot tub or any large electrical loads? And how large is your house? Also how many lights are you planning on putting in your grow room?

Using 60a worth of power for your room out of a 100a panel is going to potentially trip the main breaker in your house. Yoo can load the panel up with more amperage than it is rated for as its not expected that all loads will be on at the same time. However if you do load up your 60a grow room to its max potential your going to have to be really cautious on how much power you use in your house or you'll be tripping the breaker. It can be done if your willing to sacrifice quality of life for your grow but you'll be dancing a fine line.

Pm me if you have direct questions as I'm not always on here

I highly recommend finding a electrician this is the only part of growing that can burn your room or house down. I'm a master electrician and I would never try to explain over the net on how to do this project. Not that I don't want to help, but there are many things to cover and explain and this could become confusing if you don't have a good amount of electrical knowledge.

Good advice. I have a subpanel with 100A service. Hired an electrician.
