I have done one round of dry ice and loved it! I used the pellets but would guess small chunks would work fine. It's quick, easy and no mess. I used a 5 gallon bucket. I'll be running another round soon. I bet once you try it you will be hooked
Take some pics for the setups. Would be nice to compare ones with an without. Nice work!

Mo, you can always supercrop the chemdawg. That will force side branching, but with your height limitations, may be the best way to go for those sativa dom strains.
Its bud is already pressing up against the reflectors glass like a tourist on a rush hour train. I'll take a picture later. Its no thing. A few weeks ago, I just threw down a bunch of seed to carry me until I found my pheno's, I've got my shorties and narrowed it down to 4 phenos across 3 strains. My next crop I'll narrow it down further, I want to really mono-crop.

image.jpg I know y'all "do it your self guys" will hate me but my space is limited so I bought a 120 ez clone site. I actually filled up all 120 sites with DNA's holy grail kush and kandy kush, green house's super lemon haze, and a unknow strain from Colorado. Filled the site up with non ph'ed tap water (frequently putting in water bottles to keep the water cool). The pump is on 24/7. I normally run my sprayers on 1 minute on 5 minutes off but I'll see how this works. Once they start to root I'll put up a 2l hempy journal. Sorry for the crappy pic.

To keep temperature down, I found by using a variable timer (Art dne), I was able to keep my temps below the ambient temp. Another thing to watch for as temps rise in the res is the dreaded slime. The tap water would have the chlorine needed to keep the slime at bay. I've been using RO water, so I needed to use te pool shock method. While I think that clone is nice, it's a lot of work to clean, so I think I'm gonna eBay mine and stick with rapid rooters. No timers no nothing. I just mist them and they root.

Good looking out drdank. Actually I have the art dne timer. I may just use that this week since I have a good success rate when I used it from my stinkbuddy set up.

Have you used an aero cloner before? I leave my pump on 24/7 and I never use anything to keep my water cool, its not needed IMO unless you are cloning in a 90 degree space. Also, a while back I was using an 1 min on 5 min off timer for my cloner and I found that it doesn't work as well as 24 hours on. Just my experience with my DIY aero cloner from the last 2 years with it.

Lurking the WOH thread daily, love this thread...

Just moved my 600w and 1000w closer together, they were 50" apart from edge of reflector to edge of reflector with the bulbs facing the same direction. I moved them so there is about 11" of space from edge to edge and turned the reflectors so the bulbs point toward each other. As I transition, I will have 5 trays (18"X27" shallow rubbermaid trays) with 15 2l hempy bottles in each. Each light will have two trays under them, with one tray of the newbies in the overlap area between. I will run 18 plants each cycle, I can fit all 18 in each tray but I want to have a little more space between the bottles so the extra 3 for each cycle will be in seperate trays on the edges of my light area.

I have new strains that will be introduced into my trays as my new mother plants get large enough to give off clones.

Will post pics when my lights are on later today.

I was going to say the same thing, I have 2 DIY aero's and they have massive oversized pumps. Never ever noticed an issue with water temps. Ive read this a few times in threads in puzzlement and put it down to growers living in Saudi Arabia or the Australian Outback or similar exotically hot place.

A silicaone mat is a good idea. No its just a mesh thing that came with the kit, they gave me 4 of them.

You know what, I made that hash in under 30minutes. And could smoke a joint in under an hour. It drys real quick. Ive got a hempy or 2 with weird pheno's, they had tons of crystals but no fat buds so I just but them in the freezer. I'm going to have plenty of hash for weeks.

I want to try the dry ice kief. At first it sounded too technical or dangerous or something but after reading and seeing it done it looks straight forward enough. Just have to find the right size can as the shaker.

I've already found a CO2 supplier than will deliver it. Do you use it in pellet form?
I go to a grocery store and by broken chunks of dry ice by the pound. 2-3 lbs is good for several 1-gallon bags of sugar leaves (≈20g kief). I use a 220µm bag from a bubble hash set, some say 160µm get's you more yield but it is darker. You can get them separately from http://www.wackywillysweb.com/index.php for cheap. I too looked and looked for the right sized container to slip the bag over but eventually just threw the stuff in the bag and closed the end with my fist while I shook. If you stop for twenty seconds at 20 second intervals, you suddenly get a huge load of green snow precipitating out of the screen. No shit....snow flakes. I shake over a 5 gallon bucket and scoop it up with a credit card. A pollen press will form it into nice sized pucks for storage in mini-zip lock bags.

I have to admire the 120 clones at a time mind set. There's no way I could manage something like that.

Me I don't need many at any one time, and I like to cut big clones so old fashioned dirt is my choice.

I have the 8 bag kit and I just use the 45micron and 25 micron bag. 220 and 160?I wondered what the larger bags were for, maybe Ive been doing it wrong. lol

Cheers for your tips on the dry ice process, I'm going to try it on my next large run as you definitely need more product to produce Kief than bubble. I never ever seen kief before so it will be quite a buzz making my own. .... I just want to try these processes and products a few times, mainly for educational purposes you understand. :eyesmoke:

Yes I have two self made aero cloners wich I used a dne cycle timer for 1 minute on 5 minutes off. 1/5 worked for me. This is my first time trying 24/7.

This is a pic from my stinkbud aerocloner. image.jpg

Wow 30 mins is fast. What size are your bags and which screens did you use?
I've done bubble once several yrs ago, and it me 1/2 a day. But I have been thinking about getting a set. Can anyone tell me if there is a big difference between the $38 sets on Amazon and the original bubble bags at $150.

@ jela I notice you and just about everyone else that does the dry ice shake, uses the 200 micron bag. Seems like you'd get alot of plant matter.
I've noticed with dry screening I get the best quality using a 120 micron.
