Unions Finally Reaching Out

If you can't grasp the concept that raising minimum wage to 1000 an hour would mean poverty would be over 1000 an hour then congrats, you are a liberal.

While I believe wholeheartedly in people's right to collectively bargain, unions need a re-branding. They need to separate from a political party, stop using threatening and dishonest tactics and lose the Hoffas as their face. Situations like the Decatur Al linemen during Sandy should never happen. It doesn't help the union cause.

Why is it ok for big bussiness and their exec's to be capitalists , but when the little guy tries it he's no good .
you have it backwards.

big biz and execs take advantage of every break, loophole, and deduction in the book. corporate welfare to tax breaks for jets, you name it, they rape it.

the little guy is told to be happy with his child care tax credit and kicked in the ass to get going. no bailouts for you, little guy. those are for the big guys.

it's socialism for the rich and capitalism for the poor.

Hoffa Jr is the president of the Teamsters, hardly old news. Recently he was heard calling to take out a block of our voting public. Take the sons of bitches out to be exact. This is a turn off to a lot of people and they associate union thuggery bi-proxy.

I'm not talking about what Hannity turned the story into, fuck him. I'm talking about the actual story. Linemen from Al made a decision to return home after reading the requirements (i.e. union affiliation) imposed on outside help.

Arctic, I'm actually for the people's right to collectively bargain. Both of my parents and my brother were union people. I'm stating what I think they need to work on, they have terrible p.r.. It's like the GOP, first you have to admit you have a problem....

Jimmy Hoffa jr is only teamster president because Ron Carey (former pres, reformer, and only slightly crooked) was disqualified from holding office in a union by a federal judge after he was caught up in a scandal involving siphoning union money off to a criminal organization.

The Democratic National Committee.

OHH SNAP!

http://www.nytimes.com/1998/07/28/us/board-expels-ron-carey-from-teamsters-for-life.html

details:

a soft money trading scheme where DNC "Soft Money" (corporate/pac contributions with restrictions on their use) went to the ron carey campaign, while "Hard Money" (unrestricted monies from small private donors) from donors that thought they were donating to carey's campaign were traded to the DNC.

final analysis:

Deals with the DNC are more dangerous and less savoury than deals with La Cosa Nostra.

So you figure that rasing the pay for fast food workers would result in a 15 dollar hamburger do you? show me the figures to where payroll is 500 percent of the cost of a burger. Now even if that were true, Burgers would still be purchased and the majority of those now higher paid workers would go out and buy more flat screens, more new cars, they would live in better homes, buy diswashers and stoves, drive more, go out to better restraunts and pretty much stimulate the economy in way the rich are not.

A 15 dollar hamburger might also slow the rate of obesity in this country, of heart disease and cancer and I will wager the burgers will wind up tasting better than the dog food that is offered now. so everyone wins
You need to put down the crack pipe. For $15 that burgerista better give me reach around. Not even the most expensive vegan veggie burger I've had cost that much, maybe $10.

Here's how real life, not Toon Town you live in works. Probably a third of the people would buy the burger. Less sales means fewer locations and fewer employees needed to meet demand. That's if they even survive.

Everyone used to go to the video store and rent a movie. Now we have kiosks. You don't have to worry about your kiosk joining a union or complain about minimum wage. There are already kiosks which dispense fresh fries which tasted better than fast food fries before I went vegan.

Exactly right!
Maybe a third of the public would continue buying burgers from store X but others
will be saving their money buying burgers at store Y that are non-union or liberals wanting to raise the minimum wage to non-economical standards.
You work for what you are worth. Then some liberal wants to come and 'share your wealth'.
Fuck That, lol, $15.00 per hour for shit jobs.

Either we raise the standard of living or lower it . Personally I would like to see it raised . It's about people trying to live better .

You can't raise the living standards of the poor by giving them wage increases, that's stupid.

It causes inflation and really only screws the people with less money.

Think about it, if you stole all the rich people's money and then gave everyone a million dollars, all of a sudden a burger costs $2000...and who has actually gained out of it?

Noone... savings would be wiped out, the banking system would collapse and the dollar would become worthless.

All that from some pay raises huh ? Well we should stop all pay raises immediately then . Are you really serious ? Forget about stealing and giving millions . Inflation is caused by greed . Not pay raises .
