Ready to move to Colorado or Washington?

My and my roommate are seriously considering moving to Colorado. We are waiting on our income checks and will use those to move up there so we can start growing legally. Any helpful advise is welcomed. Ive only moved one time in my life so this is new to me. Is anybody else thinking about doing the same?

its only legal to grow 6 plants and the law isn't even in effect. plus the price of weed in them states is low as is give it a year or 2 its gonna be even cheaper. I wouldn't be moving out their if your expecting to be a cash cropper you better get yourself a job and if your not a good grower you won't even be able to sell it out their. not to mention all the feds that will be fucking with people out their.

I don't plan on just living off the cash from the crop but merely using that to pay some bills. Mainly I just want to grow as a hobby and making a little cash off of it will be worth it. Figured it will be a decade before my state legalizes it so I can move there until it is legal here then move back.

Because I want to be in a legal state and I'm tired of being at risk for something I believe is a human rights issue.

Growing there and where your at now probably wont be much difference, it's illegal at a federal level and will probably stay that way for a while

the law isn't even in effect.
Uh.......yeah it is.

http://www.regulatemarijuana.org/s/regulate-marijuana-alcohol-act-2012

UNLESS OTHERWISE PROVIDED BY THIS SECTION, ALL PROVISIONS OF THIS SECTION SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE UPON OFFICIAL DECLARATION OF THE VOTE HEREON BY PROCLAMATION OF THE GOVERNOR, PURSUANT TO SECTION 1(4) OF ARTICLE V.

The part about having and growing 3 flowering and 3 non flowering plants, legally, is effective day 1.

The parts that aren't effective yet are the regulations for selling businesses the licenses that allow 1. mass growing for the businesses and licenses that allow 2. the businesses themselves to sell to the general public.

By all means move to one of those states. It is a great idea! But I think you should grow as a hobby. Thats it...and smoke till you drop! But dont sell anything! It's not worth it!!!! Thats how people get fucked over. Why do you have to make money off it? Its not worth the risk!!! If you grow for yourself, dont tell anyone you grow (regardless of being supposedly legal) and simply smoke and store your harvest, you will be fine. Most of us here would love to just grow 6 plants in our home and not be paranoid about it. But you try and sell, you come into contact with too many people, they get busted, roll over on you, and then they got you for distribution! Thats quite different from someone who uses medicinally in thier own home, and doesnt share shit with anyone.

Federal law over rides state law.. its really is up to the governor of these states if he wants to abide by federal .. and most likely he/she will.... Fed can step in anytime also... Remember this place called California? before they had a bill passed that said feds cant fuck with them... but they did anyways..

Rhode Island and Maine have bills in motion to legalize marijuana. Massachusetts and Vermont are discussing it and there are talk of ballot initiatives in California and Oregon. It's only a matter of time, I'd wait a bit and see how everything plays out.

Before you jump to Co.or Wa. Make sure you have a real plan other than I can smoke pot for recreational purposes.
Like a job, place to live etc.

Good Luck

I would not encourage anyone to move anywhere for weed.

The law does not go in effect until it is signed by the governor, which by law is one month after the vote. Governor Hickenpussy has to sign it next week or be in violation of Colorado law.

Federal law over rides state law..
So what? The DEA already said it has no interest in dealing with a person that has a few plants. If you are compliant and do not go on tv and brag, the feds will leave you alone.

No. The governor of Colorado has no choice but to respect the will of the people. If he does not, he is in violation of state law and can be arrested. Our idiot governor has been playing a game of "mother may I" with the feds, but that does not change a thing except expose him for the little bitch he is.

.. and most likely he/she will
source?

Of course they can. The feds can do whatever they want.
I say, BRING IT.
Do the feds really want the public relations nightmare of going against a popular vote?If they come in and basically take over, they are going to create more enemies. If they come in and slowly raid recreational stores, they may still create more enemies. There are many people here who are socially conservative but hate the federal government. The feds could easily lose the support of these people.

Remember this place called California? before they had a bill passed that said feds cant fuck with them... but they did anyways..
Colorado is not California (thank goodness).
California does not have a constitutional amendment making possession of marijuana legal by all adults 21 and over.
