Raves---- Have you ever been?

HAHAHA cool summat i know alot about
we in the uk started the rave seen yrs ago were we would break into unused industrial units,set up a sound system,and party hard
alot of these are now legal events and monitord by government agencies and cost a fortune,

raves are amazing I usually go like once a month, summer time 2-3 a month! Seen ALOT of DJs!

The only real party I've ever been to was my freshman's rave in September. Initially I was really self conscious but after a few joints I could just enjoy the music and zone out. I hate crowded places and interacting with other people but the weed helped me focus on my own bubble in that environment. I will not call myself a hardcore raver nor pretend to be, but I do occasionally like wearing loud rave gear; neon colors contrasted with black, LED jewelry, UV paint and stuff. More like a cutesy crossover of scene/emo and cyber goth/punk. Actually, my style can resemble Japanese Decora which is often mistaken for Kandi Kid style so I'd just put myself under the Decora/Gothic Lolita umbrella. But aaaah back to the topic, it's all about the many sub genres of Dubstep and some trance (along with experimental music like Orbital) for me.

Alot if kids in the autistic spectrum like sensory toys... The blacklight and LED shizzle I love helped facilitate me in a busy environment with people close to me and loud shouting.

I rave at least once usually 3-4 times a month, when i say rave I mean going to shows all the dub trap 108 trance house stuff that comes through philly, theres tons of stuff at festival pier, penns landing, lit ultrabar, soundgarden hall (check this place out sweet smaller venue) starlight ballroom and then theres always nyc a short hour and a half away. 2 weeks ago i was at a most interesting events party in manhattan with diplo as the dj and was 10 ft from him then went to pacha after for ferry's bday have some sweet pictures and video. I do the major festivals too this summer i went to

How heavy in gear I go is up to me, usually cargo shorts 5 or 6 pieces of kandi my rave shoes, if I want to I can do body paint and I have an led respirator that spins and lights. its not the gear its the attitude and dancing that make the raver and I love everything from my filthy fucking dirty dub to gliding on the plur cloud

In the coming year I plan on doing edc vegas, and definitely doing ultra festival in miami since swedish house mafia announced that they will be playing their last show ever there this year and they added an extra day to the festival just for them. also e forest in michigan and definitely zoo again in manhattan


edit: and on saturday I'll be at the electric factory for zedds dead, if anyones going hit me up lol

Ah! Orange at the Rocket,Holloway road, fucking awesome! I recall going there, it was my first proper rave, October 1991!!! I was 13, I recall you paid your money at the kiosk then got searched, the bouncer said "you ain't 18!!" Uh oh!! Still let me in though. I went off that scene after I went Lea Valley Roller Express, Jungle sound clash! Fucking turd! Late summer 1994. Moved onto house/ garage at the Middlesex and Hearts club, Beluga's and Stringfellows too, good times. Hello Lahada.

Best rave I went to? World Dance 93,Lydd International airport. Next best, Raindance, New Years Eve,92/93. Those were the good old days, the Hardcore raver crews, well that's what they called themselves, Marmite! Is what we called them, you know, white gloves, luminous dayglo work vest, global hyper colour T..shirt, floppy sun hat,paper face mask filled with Vick nasal ointment! ( for the rush!!)...PMSFL!!! And not to forget the poxy whistles and horns!

You may wonder why Marmite, well, the hardcore raver's vocabulary consists of " Alright mate? Where are you from? What you done? How many?" All this while cuddling you! Hence, MY MATE MARMITE!!!.....Bahahaa!

Anyone who has never experienced a rave has seriously missed out! The seriously fat and heavy bass lines, awesome lighting and the deal sealer in my opinion, laser lights! All this together=Slammin' ah just thinking about it is giving me goose bumps!
Coincidence, this thread,only last week I watched the 6 part video of World Dance 93, on YouTube, serious goosebumps! As I was taken down "A long DARK tunnel" for "31 seconds" Ring any bells?
