It depends on the quality (impurity content) of your tap water. That Aquafina will get expensive. cn

If you can drink it' so can your plant. Tap water is fine for the majority of growers.

Dissenting opinion. We can drink 0.1% saline all day long. It'll kill a Cannabis plant in short order. cn

Well I stand corrected. But you knew exactly what was meant by my original post and are being argumentative for some reason. I also used the word majority to indicate that not every households tap water is suitable.

I was actually not seeking to pick a fight. Imo water with a hardness of greater than 300 ppm can cause problems otherwise hard to diagnose ... especially in a nonsoil grow. Even without the softener, the local well water would pickle weed plants. cn

My tape water had a ppm higher than 300, was ridiculously hard, had a spanish flatmate at one point and the first thing he told me was that the water made him ill, my dwc plants grew just fine.

I'm not trying to be a dick, but do your parents know what your doing? Its going to get reeeeaaalll stinky in your house just so you know come flower time. Once you dry and trim it will get worse.
i smoke here already so my room always smells like it neway.. they knew about the one i just had i planted it last month and i just found out it was male a few days ago so i got rid of him.... now i just started another germinated seed in FFOF . Did u ever us OZIUM for smoke smell? it gets rid of the smell completly and im wondering if it will take care of the smell of my flowering plant? (hoping its a girl
Anyway I have a portable closet that zips with mylar on the inside, do you think it will smell thru the closet? thanks

nah dude Ozium isn't going to cut it. Flowering cannabis is very pungent, I grew in an apt that the downstairs neighbor could smell it when I was trimming it. Your best bet is a carbon filter and fan. I can't condone growing where other people live without their full consent. Good Luck in your endeavours youngman.

I have to say that my first two grows in DWC were a failure and I'm starting to suspect it was my tap water: 350ppm with 8+ PH and 4 ppm chlorine. I put in an RO system and switched to coco at the same time. I might pull my DWC stuff out if the coco wasn't so damned easy and producing such great results.
