Jorge Cervantes vs Ed Rosenthal. Who really knows their stuff?

i'm shocked as jorge is from spain i do believe.. i would think he would be a bit more popular in his home land..
They have all the Cervantes books (in Spanish) in all the hydro stores and I've not seen the Ed books in store.

When we have the Spannabis exhibition here every year it seems to be a big get together between the Spanish and Dutch in the industry. Aside from all the tourists and locals.

with all the free information around on the net, these grow books are obsolete today imo
they do attempt to spoon feed newbies and give them some reference to fall back on, kind of a quick fix for lack of experience

i think it is better to learn by your own mistakes through expermenting/ observation, books are great but experience is the best teacher
once you have grown 50 or 100 harvests back to back without any problems you can predict that the 101 harvest will be trouble free
although it is not until you actually encounter problems that you learn how to fix them

peace :)

To be fair jorge has youtube videos that are current in which i believe he works out of his garden and they look good i am pretty sure he has a pepper varden and tomatoes too..lol but i get ya, im not a jorge fan but.....
jorge is an idiot imvho.. i have a very good feeling the dudes never grown tomato's, let alone cannabis.. it's pretty evident if you really look at some of the stuff he says..
also, all of his grow room setups are for other peoples grows, not once have i ever seen a pix of a plant grown from jorge.. jorge takes his quasi celeb status to gain access to very private grow rooms and breeders and asks a ton of questions and uses that info for his books and videos, simple as that..
ed rosenthal on the other hand has obviously grown.. it's not even a fair comparison between the two imo.. ed wins hands down all day every day..

and not sure if people were being serious saying look at ed rosenthal bud vs jorges diamonds or not as i'm sure neither of them had thing one to do with either strain other then the names.. that's be like saying jack herer is responsible for the infamous jack herer bud.. :wall

I wasn't being serious about jorges diamonds but he did do the selection for it says DP on there site "The genetics of the strain were selected by Jorge from the 25 year old "Research Gene Pool" of Dutch Passion."

and theirs nothing wrong with his breeding section either that was written by chimera.

also check out this video right in the description he says there his plants.

I still say jorge's book all day though I think hes got better info in his book wether he's ever grown indoors or not. and ed's book seems to have more mis information to me anyways but niether one tells you shit about hydro and lst , scrog, etc. so their only good for beginners imo if you want to learn advanced techniques forums are the place.

Well, I still say this - it doesn't matter how many theory books you read to drive a car nothing makes up for the actual experience of driving. This is also true of gardening.

So far Ed's book, (nutrient section) doesn't really pin point the absobtion if nutes. Just bands out ph 6-7. Gonna check the other one !!

I've read a few of Jorge's books... reading his guerrilla growing book... it sounds like that is what he has experience in. The Grow bible does look like it was collected info put on paper... the guerrilla book sounds more like someone speaking from experience. Also, I understand he has some charges/warrants in the US to backup his guerrilla experience... I could be wrong about that though.? I know his first US appearance was in 2010... statute of limitations?

I think the grow bible was well put together, for the most part. But if Ed and Jorge disagreed on something... I would go with Ed's advice on most.

Ed's info on lineage is fucking great...The marijuana growers handbook shows off some of that... These days hydro and equipment, to me, are just that, systems and equipment. I am enthralled by genetics.

I thought Jorge got his start as a cameraman at high times which allowed him access to grows and asked questions from there to get his start? I could be wrong, it happens....occasionally

Now I have to go look at which book I printed out at work one night when I knew I was quitting and needed about 500 pages of paper.

Was Greg Greens 4th edition cannabis grow bible

Both of these men have written multiple books on growing ganga. I wouldn't say either has more or less knowledge; however, Ed is more famous becuase e has been active longer.
