:leaf::weed: Hello I was just wondering before I drop any bucks on something new to me do these compartment style looking hanging baskets actually work and are they better than the old fashioned way of drying my buds by just hanging them from a cord or string??? I would sure like to have some input from anyone who may have had some experience using one. Thanks Symetre  :leaf::leaf:

i have a small one 2x2 circle with 4 levels. Its nice for small buds I would otherwise hash. Anything large I would still hang though

^^Agreed. I have one, and my larger buds tend to flatten if I lay them down wet. Anything smaller is fine, and just hanging the bigger ones for a day or 2 is enough to be able to lay them down.

Great use of space, I definitely recommend them. Here's what I did:

Yeah, I've noticed that too. I don't have a basket, so instead I would use old speaker covers. The kind made out of fabric (nylon I believe). I ran into the same issues of flat buds if I laid them down right away. Turning them didn't help, it just made them square looking. To me, it's not a big deal since I'm only growing for myself, but if your after that primo top shelf look then definitely hang dry for the first couple of days. i like Mike's method though. Never thought about doing that.

The baskets are great for drying trim and popcorn buds but for the real buds good old steel hangers are all I use, and they are free.

I have a large 8 tier drying rack and think it's brilliant one screw hook and sorted not to mention it will hold over 40oz especially if you use the ceilings of each layer and push the storks up through it so you have your weed both hanging on every layer and lead down it will hold a bit more, I have one of these ones and haven't noticed any flattened bud yet and have used it since my second grow, the first one hanging everything up and finding space for it was a pain in the arse with this it's as easy as trimming it up and chucking it in, here's the one I use..http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hydroponic-Dry-Rack-Hanging-Herb-Drying-Rack-8-Level-Dry-rack-/320950277512?pt=UK_HomeGarden_Garden_PlantsSeedsBulbs_JN&hash=item4aba209588&_uhb=1#ht_1384wt_1103 I paid £25 for mine and it was worth every penny, if anything were to happen to my drying rack I wouldn't hesitate in buying another.

I use a window screen for my trimmins and loose buds and have a tray under it to catch any trimmin leavins.

Anyone ever noticed the smell goes away when drying? I cut mine yesterday and placed onto an 8 tier hydro net and the strong smell has nearly gone! Ive researched this and quick drying causes this but that cant be in my case as i have got the temp dialled in! Its set at 21 degrees C and humidity at 45 so what the fucks goin on? Is this normal??

Thats very normal! I hang dry for 4-5 days depending on bud size and time of year (temp and humidity) and then into jars they go. After a few days of opening the jars daily for 15-30 minutes to vent moisture, the rich sweet mouth watering funky smell returns will full force!
