My card expires in January, if I renew early does that activate my card when I complete the paperwork and submit or is it still going to be the January date?

I just renewed and my understanding according to the lit. that AZDHS sent me was that my old card is good til expiration and the new card doesn't work until the date printed on the card.

That's what I thought. Renewing early won't get me any further along. Mine doesn't expire until jan. Have to wait and see if a dispensary opens before my date.

Renewing early will help because they will determine your authorization to cultivate when they review the renewal not when it goes into effect.

How far out can you apply to renew?
Also, will authorization to cultivate be determined by the date a current card expires or by the date of renewal request?

90 days. They can only evaluate cultivation authorization when they review the application for renewal.

I did my card early before the so called non issuing of cultivation, went into effect.
My new card is dated to expire in Dec 2013. That is the same month on my old card.

Hope you renewed your card early or you might be SOL.

I am up Prescott way. I see they are going to delay glendales dispensory opening date. Soo....as I see it, the state will still have to authorize to cultivate for you folks in the valley. But I still don't see how renewing early would help if you are still locked into your initial expiration (initiation for new) date. Yeah they will renew my card, but if a dispensary opens up from now to Jan. I think they will send me a letter saying it is revoked because a dispensary has opened in my chaa. Am I being fat headed? peace

from my understanding...a card issued or renewed before they open, has grow rights until the expiration of the card. After, renewal will not include the option of grow IF you have a dispensary operating w/i that 25mile radius...

now...
does the dispensary have to be operational [dispensing meds, to me] before grow rights are stopped being issued, is my big Q?
