"Ten people have been charged with being part of a large-scale marijuana growing operation on public land in Riverside and San Diego counties, federal law enforcement officials said Wednesday.

Six of the 10 were arrested Tuesday, and the other four are being sought, officials said.

Agents searched 15 locations in El Cajon, Lakeside and Valley Center in San Diego County, as well as Temecula, Perris and Hemet in Riverside County. Of the 10 people charged, nine are from Riverside County and one is from San Diego County.

Among the sites used for growing were locations in the Cleveland National Forest and Palomar Mountain, authorities said. The arrests came after a two-year investigation dubbed Operation Mountain High.

"We are not going to hand over our pristine public lands to gun-toting narco-farmers who destroy the landscape and harm the environment with pesticides so toxic that they are banned in the U.S.," said U.S. Atty. Laura Duffy at a news conference in San Diego."

the cops always say stuff like that , when my friend was busted growing 8 plants in his attic , the police told the local newspaper they had removed extremely dangerous chemicals from the property , that he had been using to grow the plants with , turns out those terrible chemicals were 2 bottles of canna A + B .
The thing is this kind of bullshit gets lapped up by the public , people actually think you need all these dangerous chemicals to grow weed plants lol.

I remember watching a documentary where the cops put on hazmat suits for an indoor marijuana grow.

its hard not to laugh at the cops wearing those suits, treating the grow like its an active meth lab.

I will say that i've watched a bunch of those shows about outdoor grow raids, and those cartel guys do really trash an area with garbage everywhere, and stuff like bear poison that gets into the creeks and kills off fish and other animals. that isn't cool at all. they take something good and make it evil. ruins it for all of us.

also people shouldn't have to worry about running into people in the public forests that would gladly kill you to prevent losing a big crop. that land belongs to all of us.

I have no problem seeing law breakers get busted, we can grow our own or have someone grow for us the rest can go to a dispensary.
These people are headed to Oregon for next years grow cause it's TOTALLY legal to grow all you want, at least thats what they'll be saying.
I feel bad for peps that don't live in a State that has good leadership and brains enough to fight fire with fire.
Just my .02, I'm old and greatful for what i have.

While i understand what you mean, i think you should chose your words better. So far as your government is concerned, you are all breaking federal law...

My point is that you are breaking federal law despite acting in accordance to state law. Like it or not you all break the law.

I consider it prudent not to confuse bureaucratic inertia for approval. I worry that the storm will be worse for being late. cn

There's 2 states that legalized last week..
It all depends on where the Federal Government is willing to take things, right now they leave it up to the states as long as they get their tax money.
The ones in Calif. that got busted must have been a threat or didn't go by the law.
You think I'm worried they'll break down my front door with a tank over my 6 plants?? No I'm not.
1 government telling us one thing while another says differently is proof of too much Government, I choose to listen to the side that says
Go forth grow and heal thy self.
It's my right as an American citizen to speak and do as long as I don't interfere with others freedoms.
To point I don't frigging care!

The very next day after the election, CNN asked a DEA high up about the decriminalization voted in those two States, and their response was that there will be NO change in drug law enforcement in those States. They couldn't care less about that vote. The people that will benefit from it are small personal users. Growers, and dealers will continue to be targeted as usual.

I guess we all will just have to see what happens in the future in those states.
If they keep it legal thats all good and I belive that if there is money going to the tax man
we have a good chance, if crime goes down we have a good chance.
As far as that high up DEA dude?? What eles do you expect a shallow minded dimwit would say? Get him another job
like border patrol and he'll settle right down lol.
I've smoked weed since 1967 and belive me we're way better off than we were back then.
