Super Soil with VERMIFIRE soil

Sup people.....
I just made a full batch of super soil but instead of using the dreaded roots or ocean forest as base soil, i used a relatively new soil called Vermifire

I never used this soil before but after doing some research, I've heard nothing but good stuff about it. A lot of people told me that this soil is really strong though (stronger than ocean forest and better balance of nutrients) so I am guessing my batch of super soil will be extra hot :fire:. I'll let you people know how this soil performs and how well it works with super soil so stay tuned!!! :leaf:

Used this stuff for my outdoor plants this year... They loved it!

Nugbuckets just made a batch with this stuff as well

I was looking at it the other day, the grow store guy was saying it's good stuff. It's also $3 a bag cheaper than the roots green lite I use now... Interested to see how this goes

Empire builder soil is a good ( super soil )
Im using it on my indoor rite now ,
I mixed in a little roots organic and peat moss pearlite vermiculite
Just thought i would through it out there !
Idk if there soil gets to the east coast ?
But I see them around Cali alot

i think what i am going to do, is mix up a batch of SS with VF, but add a couple big bags of coco to cool it back down a bit, because i tell you, that shit is quite a bit hotter than Roots right out of the bag, and i do have some minor burns on my lighter feeder (vegging) plants....so far i am happy with it.....but need to do "VF only" testing to get a feel of where the base-line is.

i would like to try this soil but my hydro shop sells it for $25 a bag. the same shop sells roots and ffof for $15 a bag... what do the rest of you fellas pay for the vermifire?

I think at my store the roots is like $24, a dollar more for the roots green lite. Vermifire is like $19-20??? Then 25% off that for ordering it (they almost never have roots in stock so always gotta order a week ahead of time, I get 4-6 bags at a time now)

roots 10.50 vermfire 11.75 used fire last couple runs and i think i'm going back to roots. plants just seem happier in roots.

I get my Vermifire for $15 dollars a bag at my local hydro shop.

I know that this "base" soil is very strong so I am not going to plant seeds/clones straight into this soil. First, I am going to start seeds/clones in 2 gallon pots filled with VermiSoil (Not VermiFire), which already has a good amount of nutrients in it. Once I can see their pre-sex, I am going to transplant them into 7 gallon pots filled with Supersoil and Vermifire. Throughout this entire process, I am going to feed them some supplements like hygrozyme, molasses, etc.

So have any of you people tried starting plants/seeds/clones straight into Vermifire (as you normally would with other base soils)? From what nugbuckets said, it seems like it causes light burns on some of the plants. On the other hand, budologist seemed to have a very positive experience with this "base" soil.

P.s. Do any of you use hygrozyme with supersoil? If so, how do you like it?

Should have mentioned I started my seeds in rapid rooters. Then from there they went from 1 gal, to 3 gal, to 5 gal pots of just roots organic, from there were transplanted to 20 gallon bags of 1 part roots one part vermifire, and then from there into the ground with holes dug out and filled with about 60 gallons of super soil in each hole. No signs of burn the whole way. (Some of the plants actually started fading a bit early so I should have gone heavier on them)

the only reason I had to transplant so many times, instead of straight into the ground, was because we were waitin for word from the house owners probation officer that we could plant a crop this year.

Basically I would be very cautious because this vermifire is extremely hot for young underestablished plants, but is great for large plants that alreAdy have a strong root ball established that are heavy feeders.

If ur using super soil as well you better be planting some heavy feeding sativa dominant strains because that's a lot of juice. Ur gonna burn the shit out of a light feeding strain with that soil set up.

Root's is $23 a bag where I am.

The only thing that would keep me from trying the soil is their silly marketing approach.

right now im using vermifire and empire builder side by side, i like the vermifire more, the mycos in it def make the roots explode by comparison.i used empire builder in 5 gallon smartpots for my 1st 4 plants . after that i started using vf, i have put clones directly into it once they have a good amount of roots , and i planted a sweet tooth 3 seed directly in the vf with no root cube in a half galllon pot, it needed a transplant by day 6 because it grew so fast , so far in my grow i would recommend VF.

i am loving VF as a base....shit is dialed in, but hot yes.....i give babies a buffer layer of "weak" soil for sure, but when they hit the VF they explode.....and the shit is loaded to the gills with Mycos, where i have gotten bags of roots with none (must have forgotten to add it).....

Nugs , Have you done any flowering yet with the VF. SS ? Did you end up cutting it with more coco . I'm getting ready to make my first batch of SS and just trying to decide what to use for my base

This might be off track but I thought I'd ask because it's something I've been thinking a lot about lately. I feel like if you repot often you build a more efficient root system if done at the proper times. My thought process is the idea of preventing roots from sprawling out right away so they use up the soil closer to them sooner sort of like telling a kid to finish what's on his plate before he gets more food. Of course making your transplants way in advance of any start of rout bounding. I think it would fill up a thicker bulkier root mass and repotting up at the right times allowing the plant to utilize that size pot to its full extent and then into a final pot with SS. My Qrazy trainstarted fading in week 2 of flowinane spite being in a 10 gallon container. I think since it was in there for a good portion of it's life it used up all of the nutes to fast.



Anyone have any comments thoughts? should I put my joint down?
