how is it statistically impossible for one person to receive zero votes within a subset?

do tell me all about this. as someone who was a few computer science classes away from a BS in mathematics with a concentration in statistics, i would really like to know.
That on-line college must not teach real statistics.

Statistically, it is IMPOSSIBLE for every vote in a district to be for one person.

If the statistics they are teaching you says that it IS possible then they aren't teaching you statistics.

You don't have a degree do you?

do you even understand what the word 'impossible' means?

Obama's dominance was mostly confined to largely African-American areas of West and North Philadelphia. In the third division of Philadelphia's 28th Ward, for example, 94 percent of the residents are black, and the 2010 census recorded only seven white residents. Voter registration lists showed only 12 registered Republicans in the division, none of whom voted for Romney or responded to the Inquirer's requests for comment

If the probabilities were fifty/fifty, it wouldn't be impossible but highly improbable. However when you have a near-unity chance that any one voter will choose Brand O, the chances of a thousand voting uniformly for that brand are considerable. cn
