The Twilight Zone...

(WEIRDEST SHIT EVER) So I wake up today, first day after moving my babies to flower 10/14 light to dark. I have 12 plants divided into 2 totes with about 18 gallons roughly for a simple dwc(bubbleponics) op with 600 watt light and co2 tank along side. 4x2x7 closet grow. All same strain Critical +.

I had been thinking all night I need to change my water since I made the switch. Was running about 300ppm that slowly sank to about 260ppm over the past few weeks with a stable PH of 5.8. Roots looked great the past few weeks due to having good water temps running at 68 same as the veg room temp and also using a heisenberg tea mix.

Now This Morning, I go check my water temp and its jumping up and down one degree 69-70 and not shuting off when I hold the button just cuts back on every time. For the past day and a half or so my temp gauge was doing this , but I thought nothing of it.

Just realized with my closet door closed the temp can shoot to 90 plus degrees but this is easily remedied if I leave the closet door slightly opened. Boom, down to about 80 in the flower that should be fine for now.

So I pull out my PH meter and this is when all HELL breaks Loose. I dip the shit in and it says (1)... I wipe my eyes like WTF.. Hold up let me shake it and stirr it a bit... Says (1)... Repeat the process and that bitch jumped to 135 and began to look like a lottery machine after that 185, 167, 115...

So now I'm like lets get in red alert mode. First lets get the PH meter calibrated. Pulled out my brand new back up PH meter to double check. Same results for both. Took another look at my root zone and noticed the usual new growth from my net pots was looking kinda dry and frayed. Real strange considering I had the roots looking great all this time.

I had noticed some brown spots developing over my plants leaves the past few weeks but was not too concerned considering they were still relatively infant clones. But in an effort to remedey what I thought might be a calcium or magnesium deficiency I decided to add a cup of well water at about 550 PH to each res of 18gallons. My thinking here was that the hard water would supply my nutrient mix with the needed calcium or whatever the hell is in my well water. <(Mistake)

Thats maybe where my problem had kicked in... My totes are full of dehumidifier water. Only thinking "hey this water has low ppm it should be good".
Only after I added the well water did I get this crazy PH problem and weirdness with my temp gauge.

So of course I come to RIU search well water, and search dehumidifier water. Saw Nothing on the combo but did come across A few saying use neither for various reasons.

I'm sitting tight with Tap water right now hoping some chlorine evaporates before I rinse and switch these babies up.

Just to further note as I was filling in the tap water my PPM meter got drenched and is now not reading anything.

So, lets sum it all up. I am a dumb ass! I made some dumb ass mistakes.

Question,...why not use dehumidifier water for your plants? I have a 50 gallon Rez and I have plumbed the dehumidifier water to run into my Rez with no ill effects, that I know of. Should I not be doing this and why not?

From the information I have read from searching here on RIU. Dehumidifier water is filled with things such as bacteria/mold/metals. Unable to distinguish whats in it I used it anyway. My ppm for my dehumidifier water was about 16 after collecting 18 gallons in one tote. The PH of the dehumidifier water was pretty much 7. Like I said everything was fine until I added the well water. The well water was 550 ppm with a ph of about 6.5. I only added one cup to each 18 gallon res. Something happened there...

I'm not saying dont use dehimidfier water. Just stating what the hell just happened to me. I dont know if my PH meters will recover from this. It may be my damn well water. I dont know just too many variables as I just made the switch to flower.

The only thing I can say that was not good for me using dehumidifier water is that my clones started getting rusty brown spots on the leaves but that can be anything from the nutes I use or just my setup in general.

I have used dehumidifier water with the same plant in power growers and they dont so much as get a yellow leaf.
