Bong wont come clean!

Sorry bout that it still never came clean, just gunna have to live with it i guess... Shit moral of the story dont let your bong sit for a year without cleaning it. The main shit came off but the perc wont come unclogged - Never buying one with a perc again.

My problem isn't that it is dirty, my problem is that it sat for a year and the resin is rock solid and I can't get it to turn soft without manually rubbing/scraping it and I can't do that in the tree perc unfortunately

Then I know you didn't use the oven cleaner. That will strip anything off glass, but it might need a cosolvent (ethanol works best) and a few days. cn

Maybe it needs a co-solvent, I didn't add anything to it and I really dont have ethanol but I will make due. I will try one last time(how to keep oven cleaner in a perc? It goes around it but not in it

The only suggestions I have are "use a lot" (the lesser choice) or "spring for some denatured alcohol". Another good cosolvent is the "safer, no fumes" oven cleaner. Yellow plus blue will probably master the black from the green. cn

Ok thank you, I will search around the garage for denatured(I know I have some somewhere) and just spray the rest o f the oven cleaner in and pour denatured over it if I can find it, if not will a sort of paint thinner work? Lmao...

No. Paint thinner won't work at all, and lacquer thinner would actually react, potentially making toxic slime.
If you don't have denatured, iso is the pinch-hitter's choice. It's what I use, since I don't allow my glass to get super crusty. cn

How to clean any glass bong or pipe : fill a 5 gallon plastic bucket with very hot water add 2 cup T.S.P. powder mix well add your glass bong & glass pipe collection let sit for a few hours or even better a whole night, rinse with clean water let dry, your item should shine like new

Nail polish remover and salt does some straight work. Run water through it a few times after and pretty much good as new.

Now being that i'm 22 and an adventurous googler i found out that the information REGARDING Zep Citrus Degreaser/Cleaner IS DANGEROUS and some friends of mine would have never even thought to look up an MSDS but then again i work with chemicals all day and I KNOW what an MSDS SAFETY SHEET IS!!!! they would have just listened to this guy who cares nothing about his health and use this cheap method. if you are really into cheapness use ISO Alcohol and Salt. otherwise READ BELOW
