How important is air circulation for vegging???

I have an enclosed vegging space of 4ft. wide x 2ft deep x 3ft tall. I do not really have anything in there, besides two seedlings, and 100 actual watts of CFL light. The doors to this vegging area stay closed. There is a tiny fan inside there gently blowing on the seedlings but no real intake or outake. My question is when do I need to bring in real ventalation? I am using cfl's so heat isn't an issue inside. I can open the doors to the area a few times a day and let fresh air in. My flowering will be in a seperate much larger area. If you think more ventalation is needed in this vegging area, it is not a big deal for me to set up two more fans for intake and outake. Your thoughts?

yes you want intake and outake all i used was two old fans and cut two holes in the door and mounted them

i wouldnt worry about it. my original veg and clone area was an under the stairs closet with the door sealed up and the only air exchange was when i opened the door. i did this for three years without any problems.

No Airflow or Venting. No heat build up from lights??? Come on.

if you veg plants small you can get away with out any ventilation, but when they have lots of foliage they will want that air exchange as they are respirating more, removing more toxins from leaves and sucking more co2

correct. no venting, air exchange when door opens only. and also correct, no heat build up, only use t5's in veg, room stayed constant at 74-77. of course i had circulation fans to keep the air moving and strengthen the plants, but i never had issues with pm or anything and i dont take them to flower until they are 18-24" tall and full. you come on.

My suggestion is make sure your fan is blowing mildly on your kiddos to build a strong main stem, Ive had buddies that kept there 3ft mothers in a tent about the same size area as yours, with only a fan, and had no problems. If your planning to use MH or HPS in your area, is when you will have to start worrying about your in and out ventilation.

good luck!

During veg as long as you have circulation of air you should be fine.

In the ideal world intake and exhaust would be beneficial for exchanging air thus exchanging more Co2.

Growth maybe a little slower but as long as you don't see any PM then you're ok.

Thank you for all of your suggestions. I decided to do things big! I added two 5" intake fans and two 5" outake fans. Now when I open the doors the slight warmth from the cfl's is nonexistant! I am running intake and outakes on low, and a small 3" fan low blowly softly on my seedlings.

Heres one of my top secret tricks, since sharing is caring, I know you have a flower room and what I do from clones, veg under cfl for 2 weeks, then I would just put it under my hps 1K for 4 weeks, then flipp em to 12/12 major difference bro.. itll grow fastttt! and skips the booo shitttt.

Interesting...so I veg for only a couple weeks under cfl.....then veg under hps for 4 more weeks then switch to 12-12 and flower?
