Need Mother Advice URGENTLY!

Hello fellow RIU members!!!! its a good day today! anyway....

im stuck in this dilemma and i need your advice...

i have this beautiful girl i want to keep, i was planning on doing a SCROG and the screen is about 12" above the lid... today she is 12" above the lid so she needs to get trained already... problem is i cant decide if i want to mother her and wait for the clones to grow which would set me back like an extra month...
that's not too bad i guesss......
so i have a couple questions:

1) how long can you keep a mother before they get too old?

2) should i mother this seed plant or one of her clones?

3) is it guaranteed that the clones will be as good looking and vigorous as she is? i woudlnt want to flower her and take clones form her before if they might not make it.

4) i only grow 4 plants at a time so id only be getting about 6 clones from her every crop (3 months), is this worth it? i guess this could change if i wanted to do an SOG instead of a DWC Scrog.

i guess im just scared that the clones wont be as healthy as she is....

heres some pics of her she is 34 days from the day i put it to germinate.

the cuttings are the exact genetic match as the mother, same plant, same issues, now or twenty years down the road.

1: in theory you can keep a mother plant for years and years so long as she receives the right amount of light to continue vegetive growth..

2) that's up to you, i'd probably flower this one and keep a clone as a mother so i have bud now, not in a month or more's time

3: yes, clones are an exact copy of the mother, they will show the same traits that the mom has..

4; i'm kind of confused about this one, maybe someone else will help here... :D

why not just flower the girl now but take sum cuttigs from her so while shes flowering ur clones would be veggig? or do u not have the space to run both?

i wanted to do that, but i dont have space to veg all 4 clones, i do have spacce for 1 mother tho so i wanted to take some clones and mother the best looking one. i was just paranoid because ive never cloned before and i didnt want to fail and the end up with no mother...

also she is barely 34 days today, and ive read that you should clone after 2 months... but at the rate this bitch is growing i might have to flower her a little before shes 2 months old, which adds to my fear that the clones wont be as healthy or wont grow up to be goo mothers!

thanks you guys for the help, im sorry if all this questions sound stupid

if you don't know the answer, the question is never stupid m8...

and btw, the 60 day thing is pretty much just a rule of thumb, it's not written in stone or anything, some plants will grow faster, others not so much so..

4) Sure. If you like the genetics... The only way you will be able to keep this exact plant is if you keep a mother... even if it is just 24 clones a year, you know what she does, how to grow her, and you have a monoculture to deal with not random plants and traits every time...

I have a mother i keep really small and only use for about 3 clones a year... 1 of which i throw out. It is a deep chunk plant... the yield is so terrible indoors (4.5 oz under a 600hps) that i can't justify the flower space. So I only put her outdoors... just a couple plants a year. This spring I have a friend who wants 2 as well. So, I will have kept a plant for 12 months, just for 5 or 6 cuts. It's a fucking amazing plant though. No itchy nose and toes, but it's nearly as relaxing as pharma dope. I've heard quite a few indica fans say that the indoor product was the best they have had. I'm a sativa guy, but it is in my top 3... for sure.

Just don't feed her much at all until a few weeks before you want clones. If you keep her in a small pot she will stay small... but you will need to water often. Keeping the roots healthy is the challenge with keeping plants for a long time. You can always just cut a clone and start over though.

making clones is very easy
im at 100 percent rate and i am a sloppy one.
i just simply get a pitcher of ro water. and drop in some rooting hormones. never really chech the ph of it and let my rockwhool cubes soak in there
and cut my clone-dip inclean water and pull it out cut at 45 angle dip in powder grab a cube and give one gopd shake. so all extra water is out but still wet and stick clone in cube. not the hole thats pre made but i just stick it in the cube put in dome and mist... u cant go wrong bro. any extra help just pm me

i guess i am going to take some clones right before i flower her and hope for the best!

i mean her stem is almost as thick as a quarter!

does any one wanna take a shot at expected yield.. if she grows at this rate and she goes into a 2X2 SCROG?

Take 2 or 3 cuttings now. Then if all 3 fail you can take a few more up to about 2 weeks into flower with no real problem. Just read a good cloning tutorial and one of the 3 will live. Biggest thing i stress for cuttings is first..make your final cut under water to prevent embolism and finally...just leave your clones alone the first week...just spray em good on day of cut...cover...keep warm...and dont fuck with em at all.

guessing yield is like asking how many raspberries you will have on a bush by september in may. A lot of variables.

What are you using for lighting? medium and container size?

From a 250 hps, 3 - 4 oz.
