Working my way through the tread, but I feel like I know everybody already. Dalek, thanks for all your advice in PH. I had no idea the swings went up in veg and down on flower. That makes sense why people will ph their hempys at 6.0. I've always been targeting 5.8.

Mobeus, hope all is going well with you and that your neighbor isn't being an entire bitch. This thread is awesome! Thanks so much for starting it. I too have been unable to get that super dark green in veg. I'm using the GH 2 part lucas so it's nice to know I'm getting the same results as others.

Going to keep reading the thread, but just wanted to say Hi. It would be odd quoting things back around page 30-40 :)

Sometimes you see preflowers in veg, strain dependent.

It will be interesting to see what an LED setup can do, I'm ignorant about them tbh.:peace:
Ive found that the trick to getting preflowers in veg is to bump up the ppms. Usually when I'm feeding at around 3/4 strength Lucas, the plants start busting out preflowers.

That hypothesis is very interesting. If true it sounds like it is getting a head start in a nutrient rich scenario,or just diverting to what it ultimately designed to do anyway?

The point about targeting PH 6 is not all plants are created equal, and this leads to confusion.Once one gets to know there plants like the back of there hand (hhhmmm where did that scar come from?lol),Then try different target PH's and experiment with swing plays.I know if one of my plants I am getting to know was showing major lockout (other factors eliminated) while I am keeping within the 5.5-6.5 PH range then it is not a plant for my garden. One of my needs in mother selection for me is an overall hardy plant.Keep in mind that yield is the very last criteria for mom selection, but I am a self medicating personal grower.I am not chasing around a plant just because it is a finicky phenotype.

Not all plants are created equal, but would like to hear others opinions on your findings.Welcome to WOH,and thanks for your props for This thread.

Dalek,

Having a hard time finding what you said to quote, but I recall earlier in the thread you were discussing the 3 different solutions you have pre-mixed to read the plant without a PH pen. 100% tap water PH'ed, 100% Nute PH'ed, and 25 or 50% nute PH'ed? My question is how long do you store these for? One of the biggest pains for all of us is mixing the nute solution. I would love to prepare it in advance, but I need to setup a res with some air stones so the water doesn't go stale, correct?

Here's a quick update. I finally have a final count on the outdoor Maui-wowie, it came in at over 300 gm 10+ oz plus 1 1/4oz larf. This is a personal best for me and the direct sunlight had alot to do with that yield.

Been trimming and transplanting. I've taken the 5 unsexed plants and have them in their buckets. The 3 older (by just one wk vegged in basement mix) are in 3gal coco buckets, the 2 younger (vegged in mini-coco hempy's) are in 2 gal buckets, the younger ones look to be at least 2wks behind. I want to flip them at the same time, not going to wait for the younger to catch up. I transplanted a couple of evenings ago and they are vegging under the dual 400w CMH, I'm going to pull clones on Saturday, and flip to 12/12

Here's a few of photos, note the plant I split down the center earlier, and how it healed itself. These are all a new cross called Maui-Thunder sure hope it's a good cross.

Here's one of the new crosses from the last run gotta figure out a new name for this one. I also have some seeds of the Purple Herion crossed with the Maui-Wowie

I use a modified Lucas formula.I was trying to make things simpler but went back to my original method. The nutes remain the same.
I make two types of one gallon jugs now for keeping it simple stupid or kiss method. The jugs can be stored no problem for a month.I never stored longer than that, and normaly just have 2wks in reserve. The jugs can be stored longer technicly, but whatever you do keep them cool, and dark.No bubbler is needed.I just turn capped jug upside down, and shake. You can bubble a res if you want, but I would just stir good with a nonmetallic stirring instrument.I would also whip it in some fashion to bring some air,or dissolved oxygen into the res solution.I like a capped jug so there is no evaporation, and has a handy handle. :-D

Each liquid nute/sup (supplement) has it's own specific (ml graded) pipette (Amazon) to prevent cross contamination of the concentrates. My 100% solution is the max for my lighting/setup.The 100% solution feeds the stretch.Post stretch I make a 50/50 mix of the 100% solution, and PH'ed tap directly into my hand feeding cup. This to me is easier than an extra jug laying around of the 50/50,and is my original method.Coming closer to known harvest I will taper down strength with hand feed cup method all while feeding the buds, and watching overall plant.Last 1.5 wks of known harvest I want 25% strength, and just PH'ed tap-plain tap in final days.Knowing your plants to your setup pays in knowing what this, that, and when for smooth smoke before the jar.Feed the stretch, then feed the buds, and then feed you.I do not claim my overal method is the shiz but it works for me,and no plants are created equal.

Nutes/suppliments/buffer per gal tap water

100% nute solution* (*for my setup:8 55W PLL florescent,50/50 6.5K/3K spectrum mix,2x2x2ft bloom chamber,micro Hempy cup SOG)

GH Maxibloom: 3/4 tsp or 5 grams (7 grams is Lucas formula Maxibloom)
Dyna Gro Pro Tekt: .5ml (awesome stuff right here)
GH Diamond Nectar: .5ml (a little sumtin to make the plants feel at home)
GH Liquid Kool Bloom: .5ml (all little extra of sumtin sumtin to feed the buds)
Dyna Gro Bloom: .5ml (awesome base nute unto itself, and purely used for extra insurance for overall plant health, while keeping with kiss)
Epsoms salts: just a pinch between my fingers sprinkled into jug (a little extra sumtin for the green)

GH Liquid PH up: .5ml (measure PH 2-24 hrs after nute mixing for acurrate post solution PH reading before adding adjusting buffers.Your tap/water will be different than mine, and will require a different measure)
This buffers to PH 6-6.1 (target PH 6)

PH'ed tapwater per gal tap
GH Powdered PH down: Shy 1/8 tsp
Buffers to PH 6 (usualy stabilises right away for me)

50% strength nute solution (I just do this directly to my hand feed cup like I originaly did)
.5 gal 100% nute solution blended with .5 gal PH'ed tap.
Buffers to PH 5.9-6

Target PH of 6 (standard for me) is in acceptable parameters. (once you get to know your plant then play with other targets, and swings for veg/bloom)

100% solution
Feeds the 12/12 stretch, supports weight gain, and a boost if needed.Cutting production for moms.

50% solution
Rooted clone first feed/res fill before feeding 100% to gear up for the flip. For Moms in stasis or non production.Mid thru late flower to balance out nute uptake.

PH'ed tap
General precipitate nutrient chem salts flushing, and making less than 100% solution.

1 pipette drop of Clorox bleach per gal at least a half hour before jug use.Bleach is very easily overdosable so using HHO2 in proper measure instead for a sterile res maintenance is advisible if no dropper is readily available (a drop from the cap can hurt your plants,or possibly kill).3 pipette drops per gal is potentialy fatal for small non bubbled reservoirs.

Day 10 of Pineapple Express in in Rapid Rooter's/mapito hempy cups. I'm really disappointed...not in the medium but the seeds. These were the smallest sprouts I've ever seen pop from seed and they were very flimsy even though introduced to light and fan early in life. My typical 10day sprouts in coco hempy cups are wider than they are tall (spanning the cup) and usually looking much "fatter" in the stems. I'm getting decent root development but upstairs they look twisted like blades of a propeller and just plain weak. I have another 5 in a separate breeder pack that I want to start in coco cups and should they prove to be my typical fat sprouts I'll transplant those to the bigger mapito buckets.

Cinderella 99's just saw 5 weeks flower in 2g hempy's....one is a 6 footer. Look at those thin leaves....a nice departure from my usual Indy-dom girls. So far no hermies after bending the tops down from the lights during week 3.

The 5 new plants in the last post are my 1st run of the Maui crosses. That with a Big Island Thunder male. The vigor and strength of these new plants are really good, the plant #3 pheno (lower right in photo) looks to be pretty special, it has an amazing scent already and has started to build resin, I sure hope it's a female, if not I'll be saving the pollen for sure. The pheno of the MW I had was fantastic, fast finish, great yield, very pleasant aroma & taste, and a sativa dom buzz. I hope your crosses pick up the best of these traits.

Thanks man. only got a germ rate of about 45% so far. looking like about 20 elephant crosses and 4 blue dream crosses so far. For some reason the elephant seeds are much more viable.

Curling & burned sounds a lot like nute burn.....if you missed watering by 1/2 a day I could see your girls drooping but rebounding within 30 minutes of feeding (sometimes with a huge growth spurt afterward). T5's are low in heat unless they've grown up into it. I've had mine touch the tube for a day and only slightly caused burn marks where contact occurred. My worry since you mentioned it was "molasses". Some use it as a Cal/Mag substitute....some think it's a sweetener. My opinion only here....I wouldn't add it to a hempy reservoir myself....seems like a great way to start up a fermentation process in the res since hempy's don't drain to waste completely. The great white should be ok, I use a pinch of Piranha in the bottom during start-up as added insurance against bacteria. If you are concerned about heat, it's probably hot in the area....start working on your ventilation....which I consider the most important aspect of a new grow room.
but in veg they said if your are using alot of beneficials and mycorrhizae that a little bit of molasses is a good thing. feeds the bennies.

and all this talk about oj and flushing. is it true? i would think the oj would throw the ph way too low wouldnt it? but i guess its a dying plant anyways. some of the hawaiian snows smell citrusy like grapefruit. im gonna try it on one of the clones from this mother plant. my plants are one month old and only 6-6.5 inches tall. i see a couple have alternating nodes already. i hope they get bigger fast so i can get 5-10 clones off each. i think heat was the problem. i transplanted them all into 7.5 gallon buckets. they seem much better. raised the lights and the new grow room which im able to control the temp, i think the babies are looking good. the first day after the major burn the babies smelled very danky. like really skunky. now they have a less skunky more piney smell, so i hope thats a good thing. getting another ac unit and more lights on them soon. the t5 light i got a little high. about 3 feet above the babies. i see some stretching but at least theres no drying and burning whatsoever like before. how long do you guys think the roots will take to hit the rez of these big 7.5 buckets? a week? cause im so tired of feeding them everyday. its doing a number on my back carrying 20 gallons of water from the back of the house to the front.

thanks yall for reading.

If you want that many cuttings per plant in such a short time the way you are going its unlikely. Assuming you get 90%+ clone rooting its still an uphill battle. One thing that i would suggest that might help is taking a large healthy clone right off the top of each plant once they are big enough to sustain it. Once those root and start growing you will have twice the amount of available mothers to take clones from.

I am waiting a month more to veg it out. But your idea is a good one. I am currently waiting on my ezclone to come to get clones to root. 15 mothers with two months veg time... Wouldn't that be a good idea to get 5-10 clones from each

Ezclone machines work great! I'm new to hempy but I let the clones grow huge roots that would reach or almost reach the res at the bottom of the buckets.
Im looking forward to making the move to hempy

Please do ensure your temps are in control with the the EZ Cloner....My TurboClone can make slime happen really fast if the temps come up out of the 70's.

2 Months should give you good growth but without being trimmed and trained most plants just wint have 10 good cuttings. I would encouragr topping them when they are proper size and cloning those tops.
