Nightmare so realistic

I woke up around 430 this morning after sleeping 7 hours and I fell back asleep to find myself in the jungle.

I was standing outside some kind of makeshift hut. I dont see myself. I see two South American looking soldiers arguing. One of obvious lower rank completely distraught.

Then the higher ranking officer walks into the hut and ther man pulls out a 1911 and blows each of his fingers off And it was so graphic and real. He just stood their with a horrific look and his fingers were gone except the lqast knuckle. I was horrified. I woke up at 445.

I've never seen anything like that and it bothered me all day at work.

The soldier looked to have some kind of star on his cap lower rank officer. The lower ranking officer had light jungle camo and the higher officer had dark jungle camo on.

Wow, that's pretty far out there.
Can you point to a "trigger" event in the recent past that might have brought these types of thoughts on ?
Now mind you I've seen some pretty horrific things in the military, but this one sticks with me still.
I remember years ago seeing film of an NVA officer executing a man with a round to the back of the head & for some reason I have never been able to lose that image. I can still see it frame by frame.
Helpless is all my mind can think of as I see it go down.

Balzac, have you borrowed money from a loan shark recently or something? Sounds like you're afraid of consequences or something.

Shit that's vanilla to some of the stuff I've seen! Even that general executing that POW in Vietnam is pretty nuts!

Nightmares suck though, mine usually consist of me waking up and feeling like someones in the room or I'm being watched..

Hey B, I didn't mean to sound glib in my first response, but dreams are so subjective and imagery is everything. My answer about the soldier {yourself/someone you may know} was about how he/you may have come to an impasse with the higher ranking officer {boss/parent/authority figure} and the act of shooting the fingers off {cutting ties/severing or loss of connection} is the final act or the minds ability to come to terms with the situation/conflict.

But what the hell do I know, just puffed some killer blueberry and this whole conversation could be a dream

I rarely have nightmares, but always have a recurring dream with the same theme, just the specifics are a bit different. I'm out of town somewhere, maybe at a party or hotel or something. I'm usually thinking I need to leave so I can drive back home to so I can get to work on time. I'm always looking for something before I leave, my shoes, my clothes/toiletries, sometimes even my car. And I can never find them, which pisses me off because I have to go.

And sometimes someone else is driving, and I have to load up my stuff but can't find it.....or, there is someone on the way home that borrowed my home theater system or something that I need to pick up on the way home, but there is no room to load it up, or the driver doesn't have time to stop or whatever.

Anyone have a clue what that may be about?

I've only had a handful of nightmares and most of them were because I was dehydrated. I had one recently where a dude rolled up to our truck, stuck a shotgun in my face, I pushed it away and bam, he shot my co-worker that was behind me. It was also disturbingly realistic. I remember actually feeling the shotgun, felt the blood splatter on my neck, and felt my heart going crazy, I dared not to look behind me lol then I woke up. And of course, I was dehydrated that night.

Man I had a fucked up satanic dream the other night.. I woke up to my dead grandpa (In my dream I forgot he died).. I told him about my horrible dream and he told me it was only a dream.. Then he started laughing louder and louder, I look up and his eye starts fucking drooping!! And black smudge starts pouring from his eyebrow. I woke up right after that and fuck I was paranoid the rest of the night.

I have recurring dreams that I'm running around on all fours like a dog but it feels completely natural, like if that's how I'm suppose to walk then sometimes I start jumping around kinda like spiderman but on all fours on fences and walls but with perfect precision and balance. I start floating around but slowly, watching people them watching me aswell, then sometimes I'm jogging or running but I'm not going anywhere or moving really slow. I get these dreams fairly often.

You are a person that would rather be 15 mins. early to an apointment, being late drives you nuts, someone in your life makes you late most the time....

...lower ranking officer is your current self. Higher ranking officer is your higher self. Not letting a ranking officer have command makes for 'shooting one's fingers off / obliterating possibilities / making things difficult for yourself'. You might do better if you'd let your higher self / ranking officer take command.

...just a thought :)
