Why are the hairs so white?

In looking at other pictures of cannabis plants flowering, I have noticed that most other plants have colored bud hairs usually. I'm growing blue dream and purple haze and the hairs look really white. Is that weird? They're in the 5th week of flowering right now.

White pistils are completely normal up until they start turning amber in the late stages of flowering.

the point of that hair to the plant is to grab pollen and then it retracts into the bud and produces a seed. it doesn't change color until it retracts inside.

You are thinking trichomes...pistils can also turn pink, brown or reddish, or even stay pretty blonde.

Lookin' good to me! Those pistils (hairs) will start fading to red/orange/brown as the plants mature. Do a little reading about the "harvest window" and how to determine when you are near.

Thank You! Its actually just the camera on the HTC thunderbolt. Pretty damn nice for a phone I got for free with my upgrade.

Yup nice simple answer...The plant is still very young you have another 4-6 weeks til they become nice reddish orange in color.

Thanks! Yeah I think grabbing one of those microscopes would be a good call.

i bought a little 60x-100x pocket microscope that works perfect for this. on amazon for 10$

Yeah thats the one that I was checking out too. Think I could spare the $10 to make sure I harvest at the right time.
