Very Quick Question! (Seed starting)

Hey guys, figured i'd have more luck putting this in the hydro forums. This is a question for all the dudes using rockwool to start seeds.

So i had the seed in a moist paper towel (5.7ph) for about 20 hrs while i soaked the rockwool cube in 5.7 ph'd water. Put the seed in the cube before it germ'd so i didnt break the tap root. I put the moist rockwool with almost germ'd seed inside a ziplock bag (not closed at all) just to retain some of that moisture. Placed it where it will be growing (inside of the ziplock bag) with no lights on.

Basically, 2 questions.

1. Is it ok if i have the light on while it's still pushing threw the top of the rockwool? Or should i wait to turn light on until it pops out?

2. How long (in your OPINION) you think she'll take after semi-germ'd for the 20 hrs?

i keep the light on so that room temps are bumped up a bit

I always use to let them germinate in the rockwool or paper towel in the dark and then put them under the light (4-T5's,HO). The last seeds I just popped into the rockwool already in the trays under full light and no troubles, they all are doing real well!!! Sorry not much of an answer.lol. Basically I don't think it matters how you do it. I had one germinate in my carpet when I was in university residence....lol. I even started to water it!

Oh no man, that actually answers it perfectly! I was only asking because you can kind of see the root when you look in the rockwool hole and I heard you should never expose the roots to light, but I didn't want to not be home when it did sprout and it die without light.

And germ'd in your carpet? That's fucking awesome XD
