That's it. It's no longer "flushing" for harvest it's now "starving" for harvest.

Flushing does NOT starve the plant :cuss:omg you guys seriously think that the plant is really even growing much the last week or few days because its NOT its ripening the calyx's are receding into the bud and they swell. This will happen late in flower with any ppm. If your plants are healthy when you start to flush your in no way starving them. If you flush to early YES you ARE starving them. But you flush when they are done growing and are just ripening. Really high ppm is not even needed now in this stage of the grow and if your still hitting them with ferts your just wasting them.

I flush plants in dwc for two weeks before and they were just starting to show very slight deficiency at harvest. 1 week or under in hydro- no harm no way! 2-3 wks, okay your lunching... In dirt flushing does no more than lower ppm because it is very hard to remove all the salts from soil. Yeah we know k0ijn your gonna say nutes are NOT stored in the calyx and theres nothing to flush but we smoke more then calyx's we smoke bud. This run I didn't flush I just lowered my ppm and managed it well but I still am not getting that nice clean white ash like I am use to. I like what cannibear said about the certain types of nitrogen an how they do get stored or forcefully up taken. I tell you what that is a smart dude right there! Even though he hates speeders hes full of good info and funny jokes also. + rep to you cannibear. One love :blsmoke:

BTW I love when the flush debate comes around:twisted:

Ok lets end this shit! Just finished my side by side comparison. 2 plants, elephant purple, each under their own 1000w hps. One "flushed for 14 days the other was not. Both plants were dried and cured exactly the same way. So here it is.....they taste exactly the same. Weight was nearly identical as well. There are many variables that can change a plant, but I have to side with who created this post. IMO I no longer believe in flushing. Do it for yourself and see the results to make your own conclusion if you like. A proper dry and cure method is essential to creating quality smoke bottom line

That is also starving your plants. Do what you wish, but make sure you give the other half of the equation its due. Next grow, feed them normally to harvest and see if you can tell a difference, besides harvesting more weight, of course.
I do not want to starve them I guess I am reading so much that one day things make sense the next it don't do you feed until last day before you let them completely dry out for harvest?? Thanks I am beginning to see that this is a touchy subject. I am about 5 weeks away and getting nervous about the final stages. Thanks for input.

You fucking homos dont flush??? I flush. But I dont do no sissy 10 day flush, or no pussy 21 day flush.....I do a a godamn mans flush of 52 days!!! Thats right, my shit burns some serious gray ash!

Lol OK but seriously though, this thread is damn funny. Every argument I see pro flushing is always "because everyones doing it and its the thing to do". Any pro-flush evidence that is ever delivered is " I once smoked my friends bud that wasn't flushed and it melted my skin". And their counter to scientific evidence, "Wait what? Plant botany and nutrient assimilation do not back my position of pre harvest flush being beneficial? Fuck that, tell that to me when I made my bud taste like grapes by feeding it kool aide right before I harvested.....dumbass!"

Honestly I do wonder if some of the pro-flushers here are "sock puppets/agent provocateurs" because their pro argument is that ridiculous(and always is so). But that is my paranoia showing.

The flushing debate will go on and on. After doing my own research I don't flush but then I don't overfeed.
But hey flush if you want, there your plants, do it your way and I'll do it my way. Why does every thread have to turn into an assholefest? Aren't we all adults here? Let's just knock it off ok and have some good discussions about growing without all the " your dumb if you don't do it like me" bullshhit. Really people the arguing and nasty crap around here is ruining this site.

''I'm going in, I'm going in.'' Gonna jump in the mix here. With soil I never flush persay I just monitor my nute intake and taper off to plain water the last week. Excellent qaulity.
Hydro, flushing is a must in my opinion. Tried twice with nutes until the end with hydro and the smoke both times was harsh and tasted funny, even with a proper dry and cure. Was hard to get friends to smoke it too. They just bitched about the taste. If it taste so bad why keep cheefing my shit?lol Was using techna-flora bc nutes. Maybe it's dependent on which nutes are used during the grow?

Joking aside I do not flush,I use a supersoil variation and use rainwater:),BUT I do let my soil become completely dry before I chop her down(about a week for me i use self watering buckets).IMO it helps the DRY and cure process.I only have 4 dry and cure processes under my belt so im just saying what works for me,what makes sense to me.

Then your just wasting nutes imo if it was exactly the same
