I think i just f*&%ed up my seed :( any help would be awesome.

Hey guys i germinated my first seed a few days ago, didn't sprout a long tap root but it broke the shell open, maybe i should of left it longer i dont know, anyway i planted my seed under 4 cfls in its final pot under 18/6. now i think i planted it to deep like 3/4's of an inch, so stupid me digs it up to find that its tap root is now slightly bigger and is starting to grow up towards the surface? now i dug it up very gently with a soft cotton tip and now have it about 1cm under the soil i sprayed it with some water and will let it go now untill HOPEFULLY she sprouts. Will it be ok or have i killed it from tampering with it from my impatience? i feel like such an idiot i hope she will be ok <3 any help will be helpful guys! Peace

you will know soon enough....just leave it....some seeds can take two week to sprout....a cm is too deep i think....i put my seeds just under the surface....the worst thing with being new to growing is wanting to mess with it all the time....best advice i had when i started was..."open your tent, check them over...if they need watering water them...if alls well shut tent and check again tomorrow".....you will see things that panick you,lil marks on leaves etc...its normal unless it starts spreading....they are quite hard to kill...just leave em be.....

Thanks for the reply dude, yeah im way to keen for it to sprout, its seriously all i think about all day when i go to work, hoping when i come home she's sprouted haha, it was a stupid thing to dig it up but i did it spur of the moment without thinking and im really regretting it now. ive got 4 cfl's about 4 inches away from it to keep it nice and warm, they are on 18 hours a day then off for 6, is this ok or should it be in dark? hopefully all goes well, just so hard not to fiddle, i think once i get the first one to grow everything will get a little easier as i hopefully will know what to expect, right now i have no idea what should be happening haha. i have a spray bottle i use once a day to moisten the soil will this be enough untill she sprouts or should i water more or even less?

Cheers for the help man good luck with your projects, Peace

i made same mistake like you when i put my seeds in dust for the first time , i put it about a inch in pots and then , watered real good the soil, they NEVER sprouts. best is to first water the soil and then put the germinated seed to the surface of pots and put very very little soil . someone argue with me if it is not. I just do this way...

Yeah was a rookie mistake, but its all a learning experience, still always gotta have a little faith and hope she gets through, thanks for the tips dude.

Good luck with your grows man, peace.

Dude you are way over thinking it. These plants grow in some of the harshest environments in the world... why do you think it needs to be pampered so much?

I know we want the best and mollycoddle our plants but if your new, this can be where most people make mistakes. If you are constantly checking everything, adjusting things here and there, adding all the snake oils it will be a recipe for disaster.

Once a seed is in the ground just leave it alone and don't act on impulse lol... I'm not being a prick, I'm talking from experience of my first time growing, we all did it ;)

I had some what of the same problem with one of my seeds but didn't quite go threw the panic you've gone threw. One of my 12 was refusing to even break seed even like 5 days, using the paper towel method, after the rest so in a rush i just threw it in soil, only 1/2'' deep, and tried to give it a couple days then got worried so i threw another seed in there thinking the one was a dud. After a couple more days I look and wha-la I have 2 sprouts. Now I have a bit of a dilema as i can only legally grow 12 so as you can imagine at 10 bucks a seed I don't want to pull one out but for the sake of trying to play by the rules I have to choose.:? I agree with you though it is hard not to be antsy but like previous comments take it down a notch, look forward to your one peek a day and leave it at that. Remember its a weed, she'll be fine!

That's nothing. I (on a whim) planted a bunch of bagseed I had in cups and put them outside. Only 2 of about 20 grew (I also picked shitty seeds that never had a chance. Inexperience) When I went to throw away all the dirt I had them planted in I found another 6 stuck inside under the dirt. I gently dug them out and replanted them. Now they are fine. I just switched to flower. Don't forget. These are "weeds". They are tough to kill. Many people on here make things a whole lot more difficult than it needs to be. Just leave it alone and stop fucking with it. They don't like that when they're young.

Cheers for the replies guys, yeah I shouldn't of fucked with it but all good, this is my first time and I was over the moon excited haha, still have faith in her to do what she does best, :)

Thanks for all the info and advice your all legends,

Peace
