Best grams per watt yield using SS

I think you missed the part where I said I don't have much experience and also the part that says 12/12 from seed and no veg time, not to mention I didnt use the full 540watts for the full grow, started at 200 for a month then slowly made my way to full power then down again near the end, I got 12oz of high grade. If we were to calculate it properly I would probably crush your yield on the gpkw, how long have you been growing for?

I didnt want the thread to turn into this but I guess it was inevitable, at least it's entertaining, the question was simple though what is your best GPW with SS. I got my answer.

Thank you all.

Buddy of mine used to get 2 lbs/1000 HPS (1gr/watt) in super soil but it was bunk weed and took 10 weeks to finish. Supposedly it was an Island Sweet Skunk cutting. I'm sure there is much better out there giving the same yield without the bunk. The holy grail we are always searching genetics for.

With ss and / or just top dressing and I veg for 2 months mainlining. I get 12 oz per 432 watt par t5. 10 - 12 oz for 270 watt led with indicas. The most I ever got off a 1000 with sativa dominant was 1.2 lbs. I've done the side by side and separately. Led and par t5 win every time at gpw and per area hands down. My next venture will be with edfl induction lights. Soon led and induction will be the standard and hid will be obsolete. Which it pretty much is.

Usable light from hid is to dirty mexican schwagg weed as led and induction are to the dankest kush you have ever seen or read about.

Catch the simile on the difference in usable light between them. In reality its about 80% difference. Look up PAR and PUR. Photosynthetically Availbale / Usable Radiation. Then look up what spectrum wave lengths chlorophyll absorbs light at on the surface of the leaf. HPS has it ass backwards.

If you use hid, grab a digilux bulb. best spectrum on the market next to cmh. With digillux you only need to hit about 45 watts per sq ft. Where all others are 65 watts - 100 watts per sq ft. best deal is on amazon $70 for a 1000w

you are getting 12 oz with 540 watt led. and I am getting 1.75lb per 1000 watt light. And you are crushing me? How so?

ok maybe not crushing haha. but I meant if we calculate properly with gram per kilo watt hour, basically it's not only about the total wattage of your light but how long was it running for!

gram per kilowatt hour isnt how you calculate gpw.

you take your wattage (lets say 1K) and divide how many grams you yield by your lights wattage (1,000)

so if you get 24oz you got yourself (24 x 28.3 = 679.2 grams / 1000) .679 GPW

its Grams Per Watt, not Grams Per Kilowatt Hour, your not going to rewrite how math is done here.

I've got a couple of points here, as someone who uses both HPS and LED.

1. Although Grammes per watt is a standard measure of a grow's success, measuring grammes per watthour is a better way of measuring the cost per gramme of end product. If you are growing for profit then the second is a better measure, since it accounts for the actual cost of the electricity used.

2. Enduro pulled 12Oz off a run using 200W to start, and 540W to end. Using your mathematical formula that gives (assuming a step change from 200 to 540 half way through the grow) 336g/370W = 0.91g/W. That is pretty good for a 12/12 grow, and puts many people using HIDs in the shade...that kinda tells me that any difference that there once was (for sure there certainly used to be a difference) between HID and LED is closing fast.

Either move with the times, or get left behind. Hating on LEDs isn't going to make them go away.

They were Sativas and Indicas, so some were ready in about 90 days from seed and half were ready just over 100 days and 2 took 110ish days... Not that many less days than a regular grow but that is because half of them were Sativa and a regular grow will have many days at 18-6 and that makes a big difference. Since then I have been slightly vegging my plants in a small veg cabinet, 4-6'' high before placing them in the flower room and see how that goes.

But the question was to help me have an idea of what to shoot for with SS (realistically...), Now that I hear those numbers, my goal will be to reach 1gpw with my SS.

here they are:

The video was made a couple weeks or so before I started harvesting

I Get 1.75 lbs per 1000 watt light. How much do you get? "asshole"
How many plants is that with? That's where this arguement gets skewed for me. How many plants do you have to produce that under a 1000W? Just curious. I"m on my first grow and bought a 1000W. Trying to gauge what I can aspire for.

i like the oz/gall of soil measurement. i could only hope to pull five ozs of my five gall smarties...i believe i get there through proper training and the right strain

Yeah don't include the cost of running fans, A/C units, extended veg times and hydroponic equipment when you calculate the efficiency of your grow. That will do you good in the long run .

I like this way of measurment as well but I dont think it is possible for me to get it without vegging. In my opinion your goal would be easier to reach in bigger containers, mostly because you can use a higher % of supersoil.
