DrFelterpus - First Grow - STEALTH Closet 400w HPS/MH Bulb

Let me know what you think, open to any and all suggestions. This will be my first grow.
I have two bagseeds already germinated in solo cups, but also waiting on my dank fems from SoS. Should be here in the next few days I hope.

• Secret Jardin DarkRoom II Pro 60 - 24 x 24 x 64 Inches- Grow Tent
• iPower 400w HPS/MH w/ Dimmable Ballast
• 4" VenTech Inline Exhaust Fan Blower
• SE Electronic Stepless Controller
• AcuRite Humidity/Temperature monitor
• 4" - 25ft. of Hydrofarm non-insulated ducting

• Medium: Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil, Fox Farm Happy Frog soil
• Nutes: Sensi Grow & Bloom A+B, Big Bud, Bud Candy, B-52

** Buying another 4" VenTech Incline Fan w/ Carbon Filter after flowering begins"

Any advice as to setting up my tent, extra supplies I need, nutes, etc. Thank you

I was hoping to maybe meet a mentor that would take me under his/her wing, so if anyone is interested let me know!

You have a great setup....you are growing now? Or getting ready to? Any heat\ventilation problems?
Have you set up tent yet? I would get my tent functioning, before putting $25 seeds in there! Work out kinks in system?!

Thank you WB, yes I am growing now... have a couple bag seedlings under the MH 400w in my closet. No tent set up yet, waiting for it in the mail. No heat problems yet since it is so open, but been running an oscillating fan and a huge box fan in my closet. My 4" inline will be in this week, along with the tent, nutrients, FFOF & FFHF, air ducts, etc. I will order another 4" soon and probably a carbon filter right before flowering.

-This fella' right here has whorled phyllotaxy. Read it on another thread here on RIU.

"When you get one of these, keep it in veg as long as possible to get the biggest harvest. The 3 leaf trait disappears as soon as you go to flowering! Just like the normal plants, as soon as "puberty" hits, the paired (or tripled) leafed stems stretch and the leaves no longer have partners. By harvest, the only way you can tell a plant had whorled phylotaxy, is to look at the bottom of the plant! But extra branches mean extra buds, even if most are smaller ones at the bottom of the plant."

Here is another bag seed I just germinated yesterday and she is rocking the socks off the mutated seedling.

I feel like she is stretching maybe?? how do I stop that?


Suggestions or anything?

lower the light slightly. also you can bury your stem to just below your seed leaves.

Okay how far can a 400w MH Ballast at 50% be to the seedling?? can I just push a further hole and bury it more I assume?

Yeah, bury the long stem from stretching....and a cpl feet from seedling would be good?...any one else running a 400W for seedlings? You can g
row seedlings under a cpl floros! More cost effective till they are ready for veg? Just an option!?

Regarding phlotackci....or whatever that is?? You lost me? Is it a disease? hmmmm

You have holes in the bottom of those pots you are growing seedlings in?

Okay, yeah I buried in more in the soil. No more money hah, just spent about $350 on my whole setup + nutes... so runnin low on money since I gotta pay bills as well (server + college student) hah.

Apparently it is a mutation and sometimes the plant can grow in leaf/flower sets of 3 i believe? Somebody else should probably clarify it more, because I was lost as well.

And yes I have 6 holes in the bottom of my cups along with 5 slits in the middle of the cup going down the sides... the cups are now sitting in a plastic container with maybe a 1/8" of water in the bottom.. it should evaporate from the heat/light.

Why are you buying 2 x 4" inline fans? Any pics of your entire setup?

I'm not, I'm only using 1 - 4" inline now.. with a carb filter. not quite done with setup, almost ready.

Well I have almost the same setup.
Darkroom 60 like yours, 400w cooltube, so far I'm using a 240cfm booster fan on the cool tube, one 405cfm inline fan as an exhaust and I have a 80cfm as a passive intake.
I have not started my grow yet, waiting on sound proofing supplies. I am planning on only growing two plants at a time.

If you want I can pm you when i start my grow so we can compare our grows, this will be my first grow as well.

Oh, will you be using any LST, or SCROG?.
also any idea how long you plan on vegging for?
