Both of these guys will keep the 40+ year long failed drug war in full swing, so it doesn't really matter much in regards to that.
The war on drugs has destroyed millions of lives and killed over 60,000 people south of the border, more than 12 times the amount of American soldiers killed in action in the war on terror (another failed war).
It seems when we declare war on some vague concept or idea, it doesn't actually solve it, and in fact, in nearly every case exacerbates it much more than it was in the first place.
Why do we do it? To keep the private prison industry in business. To keep the private security industries and weapons industry in business. (check my sig, Shane Smith's quote, nailed it.)
Our government has decided making money is more important than freedom and liberty. We get our American Idol and Jersey Shore though, and we get to stuff our faces with trans fat til the cows come home, and lets admit, that's all that really matters anyway..
Maybe we should start wars on good health, good education, employment, freedom, liberty, justice.. Shit, we might actually get something done.
