as you can see a 1000W should not be more then 25" away

so two 600W would do a better job spreading the light out and covering all the space, plus the fact that 600W provide better light per watt ..

but yea 1 gram per watt seems to be max, if every thing is spot on, might be able to push that a bit then if you add co2 but that will only help if every thing els is spot on .. I say if you get between 1/2 and 1 gram per watt you should be happy .. I am

Here is a quick idea for you as far as grams per watt...

5'x5' table, we have a short stout fast flowering strain that averages 10 grams per plant flowered straight from clone showing roots. This is 25 square feet of area, let us run with a decent number of plants for SOG, and say 6 plants per square foot. That means we will be running 150 plants under 1/1000W HPS. You can already see what the numbers are going to be...150x10 = 1500grams; which is 3.3 pounds at 1.5grams per watt.

That is with 6 plants per square foot, and since we are going straight from clone showing roots and not vegging for one week, we can fit even more, so let us run 9 plants per square foot for our SOG grow.

25 square feet x 9 plants per square foot = 225 plants, what an amazing number of clones eh? You can already see where this is going, yield might suffer a bit, let us say 8 grams per plant on average now, which is still pretty low, but we'll do it just for the sake of argument of "real life growing conditions", so you get 225 plants x 8 grams average per plant = 1800grams. That is 1.8 grams per watt under a 1000W HPS, and all the bud is ripe, all the bud is one cola, all the bud is easily trimmed, easy air exchange, easy removal, easy addition. Something that is more realistic is running between 150 - 180 plants, but you are getting closer to 14 grams per plant on average.

150 plants x 14 grams per plant = 2100 grams. 2.1 grams per watt for a 1000W HPS, easy, oh so easy, 1grams per watt is not the maximum yield by any means...dream for the impossible my friend.

Look at your reaction to over 2.1 grams per watt, you are in utter amazement and shock at someone even suggesting such a thing. Do you really think I would feel the need to prove something to someone who thinks so small?

There is a tiny grow at 1.8 grams per watt, you really think 2.1 grams per watt is impossible? Lol, you can't even see past your hand boy.

Nah I think I will stay so people like you don't give misleading advice or actually become aware that there is a thing called Google to correct yourself.

I would say this is sound advice, If you do searches around this forum a lot of people are lucky to push .5 to .7 Gram/W I don't know where this guy is getting his info that 2.0 G/w is an easy thing to do.

I would stick with slipons advice, He has grow experience and can easily prove it. Unlike this other clown when asked to see his grows, responds with vulgar insults

You've been proven wrong, and I hope anyone that can comprehend simple math will be able to understand why you are ignorant and uneducated. This is most likely due to the fact that you went through the public education system of the United States.

Now you are claiming I said it was easy? You do realize that everything we say on this board is DOCUMENTED, right? You get that don't you? Stop trying to frame your petty argument to make yourself correct. It is very possible to get 2 grams per watt, the limiting factor is the fear of growers to run high numbers of plants. You are misinformed and a danger to any new grower trying to learn.

Lol, I really hope you aren't a grown man, because you are acting worse than a woman, I would hate to see how you would respond if I bested you physically.

9 2-4 ft plants in 1 gallon pots per 400w or 36 1-2 ft plants in party cups per 400w.So 800w you could get 18 nice sized plants or 72 small ones.
These numbers are based on 3x3 area and 6x6 area It's possible in a way but still would be too much work. IMO
