8x12x7 setup 5 pound harvests

so the house I will be living in this summer (5 months) has a good sized basement and I want to set up a grow op where i will do 2 harvests this summer (10 weeks for each) I want to get AT LEAST 5 pounds per harvest (my goal is 5.5-6 and I will be happy). I am planning on 6 600s cooltube, 5 gallon pot ff soil, ff notes, gonna spend about $50 per plant and buy 24 plants per grow (4 per light and planning on having the grow room 8x12x7) that are already good sized 2-3 feet tall that I will immediately flower and trying to get 4 oz per plant. The house is over 4000 sq ft plus a separate small office building on the same property but it will be just be and a few of my friends living there so how much power can this grow use before its too sketchy? Does this sound reasonable and ill take any ideas or criticism thanks.

You want to pull 5 - 6 lbs. off of 24 plants. That is between 2,240 grams and 2,688 grams. Which means if you were to pull on average .5g/watt you would need between 4,500 watts and 5400 watts of light and some very big plants. As you said, 3.3 - 4 oz. per plant, which is very doable. So now that we have the weight requirement out of the way, and you obviously have enough space and man power, how much money are you working with? You say spend $50 per plant, so is your initial investment only $1,200? Also soil would be the worst way you could go in my opinion, and how much power before the house power usage gets sketchy? It is a rather large house and especially with a lot of people living there an increase in electricity wouldn't raise any red flags. I think if you give some information on how much money you're trying to spend I would spend month 1 getting a bunch of mothers and trying to pull more grows in a shorter amount of time instead of 2 huge grows.

alright thanks for the response but yea if I could turn out 2 pounds a month that would be ideal and I would invest up to $3000 on it....I just don't want to buy too much equipment cause after the 5 months are over I won't need it anymore.

5-6 pounds a harvest from an 8x12 is definitely doable. for 3k investment.. ehh i dont know about that.. thats some serious ghetto rigging. my room was like 12k for gear and everything to get through the 1st batch

if you spend enough time DIYing then 3000 seems possible but yeah, you get what you payed for

3600 watts puts you well into the sketchy electricity use range. If someone else is getting and paying the bill, you can't have anywhere close to that many lights. I would say even two 600s is pushing it.

lol it doesnt matter how much power you use as long as you pay the bill and dont try and steal power.

lol 2 600s is pushing it dont listen to people like that.

are you sayin your gonna veg 2 weeks and flower 8?

Just my opinion maybe you should learn how to grow first then u wouldn't have to ask how to pull 5 pounds I repeat learn how to grow first!

I don't understand, why invest money on equipment then? It would be easier to buy 1 pound of weed for $3,000 and then sell it, until you get enough money to buy 5 pounds, and then you can quit without having to go through the expense of building a room and investing $3,000 just to grow weed one time.

Why do you think he is on this website? Curb your bad attitude please.

I spent 3 years growing with someone before I set up for myself. This is not an easy thing to do. There is alot to learn and most of it is experince. Good luck

Growing can be pretty simple, I think what this guy wants to do is very possible, it just isn't practical to buy a bunch of equipment just to have it sit in storage 5 months later.

So a 400 watt light only yields 3x3 grow area? Does that include using mirrors reflect the lights?
Mirror's actually absorb the good light that the plants need so it doesn't actually help them at all. White (flat) walls, or mylar. I just got with paint. Easy to do, and there isn't a landlord alive that will complain that you painted their walls (unless it's some crazy color) unless they are just being dicks. I'd go with painting. Mylar seems too much of a pain in the ass and I think it would be too easy for it to get crinkly like aluminum foil and then instead of reflecting like it should, it reflects at odd angles. I've heard it works good, but I"ll go with paint.
