Now quick, think....the kidnapper says "you have 30 seconds before I shoot them both" the robber scenario is out the window now...you have no other choice...that was suppose to be the main plot in this question, no twists, you don't get to have that luxury here.

Then I hang up, since robbers have no 'rules' that they abide by, and the robber then has to choose themselves, and worry about the consequences when I arrive.

I had that thought also, men like to see their kids carry on the last name and don't blame you for saying that, it's just part of modern mature. I think I would do the same since males are the dominant gene.
