Does anyone use an EZ clone machine here? The idea is the same essentially and you can root 30, 60, or 120 clones at a time. A buddy of mine uses it with great success and I was thinking of buying one.

I made one for much less than they cost at the store. I used the jets from a grow shop that come with an ez cloner, they are much better than the regular store bought ones, I did a side by side and there is no contest. I used a small 11 dollar sub pump from harbor freight, an 8 dollar storage tote and 10 dollars of PVC fittings to make mine. On a side note azcannaman bought a mini version of this cloner online for 40/60 dollars and he is having good results I think. You can find his page if you scroll up a few posts, he liked on one of my comments, I think he put a link on one of his journals to the cloner

Just google "clone king"

Do not buy the 25 site one for any reason, the 36 site is only $0.01 more lol - They are like $65, $80 shipped to your door.

You want the larger volume of the 36 site to keep the rez temp down, even if you never need to make that many cuts at once. That's my only complaint of the 25 site version is it only holds about 3 gal and with the pump going 24/7 the temp is way higher than ideal for an aero-cloner.

This could be easily solvable by just buying a bigger tote and ditching the original tub/lid that comes with it. But then your half way to building one....... I suppose that is what ill try next is just buying a tote and drilling holes in the lid. Drop in the pump/mister setup and problem hopefully solved.

The cuts I put in just water look great. I just filled a cup halfway with water and stuck them in, they're supported by their own fan leaves. Let's see if theyroot.

I had a couple of clones in the coco that weren't looking as good as the others so I figured I would break my own rule and check for roots. The two that looked the weakest are already developing roots, I think that is pretty good for 5 days, and they are the ones that will probably get tossed if they don't improve anyway. I went back to get some pictures bit the lights were off. I will try and snap a few tomorrow afternoon. The water only cuts still look exactly the same, fresh and green, no change to the stem, but my fan did blow one of the cuts out of the cup and it died. The clones I ha e in root riot plugs have began developing roots also (I sliced one open with a razor just to check...) This strain looks like ot is going to be easy to clone. I also noticed a problem with the water only method cloning. It is consuming quite a bit of time everyday changing the water in the cups whereas the coco cups are still chillin in the domes.

Just a note... I think one of the biggest mistakes people make is directly misting their clones. You want your clones to take root so don't mist them. If they're getting what they need via foliar spray then they aren't rooting around for it themselves...
Cloning is as easy or as complicated as you want to make it. The easiest possible method is to just put your cuttings right into a glass of water and change that water every day or every other day. Right now that is what I do and I have enjoyed a 99% success rate with clones taking root anywhere from 7-9 days on average.
you were right. The water only clones rooted in a week, they look perfect, they never dropped or yellowed, after the roots showed I stuck them into a cup filled with coco and they took off.

I'm glad to hear that you like the results you achieved. There are so many ways to clone IMO it really depends on the person and all their own variables. Some people like to make it complicated, others make it easier. It's all a matter of what is easiest for you. Some people find making things overly complicated to be the best way. I'm not one of them.

Cheers & Good luck, mate.

this is a root system grown with the coco cups at 10 days after cutting was taken from plant. Just thought I would show that it does work.

This was anrealy good read and I am going to try the watter only thanks + reps
Thank you, both methods work, but as stated there are countless methods that do work. If water doesn't work simply try another until you fond a method that suits you.

nice thread but a little too extra. i just dip clone in cloning gel, water the coco a little, plant, and place in freezer bag. 3-5 days roots are showing.

I actually stopped using the dome altogether. I dip the clones in water for a little while and put them straight into the coco cups. They are rooting much faster and aren't getting dehydrated like they were when I was using the rooting gel. Plants are so weird, the less you do the better they do.
