I tried looking them up again on the DP website and they are not on there :/ lol so i dunno what happened maybe they just weren't popular enough to continue...i dunno! You could try looking on amazon? I know its weird. The guy just recommended them to me coz i told him i was doing autos :leaf:

I had to cut back one of the main colas on the topped plant coz its almost touching the light....again. Damn. I know i could have tied it down but fuck that i cant be bothered. I need to take my plants out every time i water them so tying down would just make things a bit more of an arse ache.

On the plus side, i found 2 more free Afghan kush ryder seeds LOL i didnt even know i had them (i guess i forgot) so i dont need to order any more auto beans for my fem seed production this winter! wahoooooo! Plus i've got one each of lemon skunk, rocklock, purple wreck and sour kush, all going on a 12/12 from seed at some point this winter. Ive also go durban poison femmed going 12/12 from seed this winter. aaaaaand i got some (i think.....i hope) actual Early Misty seeds, but they are regular so im making clones and then self pollinating any females using the colloidal silver method to create loaaaaads of feminzed early misty beans (i'll prob be one of the only people in the world with 100's of femmed EM lol) BUT thats all down to wether the seed bank can be trusted, as the seeds just came in a clear baggy :/

Anyways, I hope people can take something away from this grow journal, even if its what NOT to do, or what seeds not to order lol :leaf:

If your talking about adding some more light then it must be cooling down in the hills of Punjab... it was a rough summer for many of us (indoor and out). I have two autos that just started to flower. One was topped and the other was FIM'd. I am very happy with the results so far. It will be interesting to see the end results of your topped and non-topped. I have a feeling that this grow of mine will blow the last grow out of the water. Can't wait to get this ULH in the ground. I don't know if you have seen my journal but yours inspired me to start one.

Thanks.

'tis indeed! its gettin frikin cooooold but not in my mystical cupboard of delights oh no. Yeah go for it with the ULH its a beautiful plant, but if i was gonna grow it again i would follow the breeders recommendation with a 15/9 light schedule from seed, or you could be waiting ages for pistils! I chose to ignore these warnings! Its the only semi auto that they do, but i was foolish and was blinded by the prospect of an auto haze with 'very high THC'. I figured they only auto'd on my last grow due to my own mistakes and a shitty timer. So just go 15/9 and ill be very interested to see how they do :) ill check ur journal now :) :leaf:

Day 51 from seed

budz.jpg Just another group shot "say cheese" "oh, okay, say ultra lemon haaaaaaaze"

budz 2.jpg just some buds goin on. No THC production yet, vertical growth seems to be slowing, but these bitches love to give you headfuck

weird main cola.jpg the main cola of the biggest girl. She is bending to the light (its only about 5" away lol wtf) and the bud structure has gone kinda lop sided, gonna be an interesting top bud.

fucked AKR.jpg2012-09-26 15.49.41.jpg Theres the heat stunted (and generally bullied) AKR on the left there showing THC production

Next watering + molasses will be tomorrow :leaf:

I think I saw a single curled leaf between all your plants. Maybe I'm too timid with my nutes or I just neglect them more than I think I am, but by day 50 of just about any grow my girls are eating themselves alive. Yours are vibrant and healthy looking. Good Job, They're doing awesome, lowblower.

Nice thread Low! You got some monsters there. You'll definitely get a satisying yield man...

I got some ULH on the way and your thread made me think that I just enrolled for a difficult mission at first. But the seedbank description says this :
"For optimum yield and maximum psychoactivity (THC content), 90+ days are recommended. Indoors, special care must be taken. Unlike other autos the best photoperiod for Ultra Lemon Haze is 12-16 hours."
Which fits your situation.

I think I'll put them on 24/0 for about 3 weeks and switch it to 16/8 later on.

Good luck!

Thanks Dameon :D I can't wait till she is filling out, i hope she doesn't stretch any more coz thres not much room left to expand. I think i cann raise my lights about 3" more till maximum height so fingeers crossed!! This ULH apparanttly takes ages to flower, so im expecting they will be another 5 weeks yet...supposedly 90+ days from seed :O

Haha yeah im as surprised as you, my last grow i think both my ULH has 2 fan leaves between them by harvest....seriously mistreated! This time i said to myself i can't let that happen again, and i guess i got good advise for this time. Thanks for following :D

Day 55/56

NOTES: They are all flowering nicely. Shame that i cut the two main colas of the topped plant due to stretching, but hey. They should still harvest some killer smoke, we will just have to wait and see how it can recover from such harsh measures! I have noticed the start of trichome production on the ULH's :hump:

group.jpgakr.jpg The group on the left and the fucked up lil AKR on the right (its a long story)

large.jpglarge top bud.jpg Such a lovely plant. The main cola is gonna be special, as long as she handles the heat well (about 4" from the light now)

medium.jpgmedium top bud.jpg The smaller ULH, she is not THAT much smaller though ;) She is also a beautiful plant, the main cola is swelling, the pistils look so fleshy and juicy on the top of the plant.

topped.jpg The topped girl. As i mentioned, i cut two main stems to even the canopy (so effectively, i have now topped this plant 3 times lol). I have to move my plants in and out too often to tie shit down. If i had a walk in growroom i would have tied those branches down but i haven't. Looks like she could still produce rather well though.......to be continued.......:leaf:

Just went up to 500w again.....hopefully its cooler outside now to handle the heat. I just couldn't wait! aaaargh! I will be so gutted if i get heat stress now but the cupboard has been modified since the start of the grow, to be less cluttered. So the air should be getting better circulation now.....hmmm fingers crossed :o:leaf:

Thanks for the kind words rippn13 :) I would have liked the journal to be a bit easier to follow, but shit happens lol It must be confusing coz i've gone up and down and up with the wattage, the light ratio has gone even etc. etc. But im just gonna get these ladies to harvest. I think on my next grow im gonna leave out all technical aspects and just simply say " -strain and breeder- " hehe

Just checked the temps and they are at 75oF relative temps (about half way up the canopy) so its ok for now. The temp of the air comin off the ventilation is notciably alot warmer. Ill Post an update on wednesday/thursday and hopefully there will be some positive development. Thanks for following!

uh ohh.....alot of crispy leaves today :/ just managed to raise the reflector again, like another 5" which i didnt think id be able to do. But its done, so there is a good distance (once again) from the lights and girls. I also just got one of my inline fans and turned it upside down on the reflector hood ontop of a circular vent. Its blowing aot of warm air up into the top of the cupboard so that should help keep temps down underneath. I think this rearrangement could work......but the damage from heat stress from today could linger on for days now anyway :( fuck it, you dont know if you dont try! Im keeping them on 500w still though, unless they start to look really unhealthy i back down. Pics on thursday :leaf:

Don't be too proud to dim down your wattage. I was running 600w last week and then started adjusting it on a day to day basis from 450w to 600w depending on temps. Now the temperatures are a little higher this week and I'm running a straight 450w. I'd rather less wattage as opposed to heat stressed plants. Stressed girls don't like to grow optimally. Good luck, mate.

Yeah good advice......the hairs on the top of my main bud on my biggest girl have receeded and gone crispy :( really shit. I knew i should have raised the reflector up before i did it, but i was half a day too late. The smaller girl and the topped girl are about 4" lower in the canopy and they are still perfectly healthy though. Will be interesting to see how the large girl recovers over the next couple of days.

Day 60 (SEMI AUTO ultra lemon haze - now on 12/12 lights for the last 3 weeks or so because they were taking too long to change to flowering)

NOTES:

- Fed a lil taster of PK13/14 the other day with teh dutch pro autoflower bloom A+B and no nute burn so far so they seem to be able to take it
- Had a heat issue when i went up to 500w on tuesday, i went out for half the day and when i got back i had some crispy leaves and the hairs at the very top of the tall ULH had died and kinda shrivelled up :(
- I have made a DIY air cooled aspect to my reflector hood. I basically slapped an inline fan upside down on one of the vents and now the ambient temps ar around 21-22oC so its working amazingly and i still get to use both my 250w cfl's so my topped plant is getting the good life too now

group.jpg getting very fragrant. Started with a musky lemon smell but the thc is starting to turn more towards grapefruit now. I think ive only been in flower 3 weeks now, so they doin well. I remember last time i grew the ULH the buds stayed small till the last 2.5-3 weeks when they went crazy

Larger ULH bud sites.jpg joined stems!.jpgweird top.jpg The big ULH, the top bud has some heat damage but i think she is on the way to recovery with some new white hairs coming through. The middle photo is of the main stem...it is two stems that have fused because the plant bent over to the light and the two stems were in contact with each other for so long (i guess) either way its turn the 'top bud' into a mutant beast

smaller ULH budsites.jpgsmaller ULH main bud.jpg The smaller of the ULH, she has such plump buds, they look so appetizing i wanna eat them :/ still very young, so im looking forward to the next 5 weeks

topped girl budsites.jpg The topped girl, loads of budsites, around 15 or so on the top, not sure how much bigger they will get but we shall see :/ they dont look like they are gonna get as impressive as the other two so far

DIY air cooled reflector.jpgDIY air cooled.jpgtop of cupboard space.jpg My 'new' air cooled reflector LOL. The last pic shows the cupboard space above the reflector that the warm air is being blown into, and the carbon filter can take that straight out too, so its helped temp down below soooooo much, no more heat stress!

22.4C.jpg500w.jpg rockin both 250's and temps just below the canopy at 22.4oC

Thanks for following!

Oh by the way, ive heard not to use superthrive during flower, but noone has actually tested it out who says that, so its got a kind of myth to it. It supposedly lengthens the time to flower but alot of people say its a load of bullshit. I think im gonna give 1ml per gallon on next feed to see if it helps recover from the earlier heat stress even better
