Let GDP And Others Go To Seed

Ok so after having some terrible luck with horrible quality local clones and seeds the past couple years we decided to go out and purchase some high quality seeds. The seeds arrived late so no time to sex the plants or take clones and decided we would just let the GDP go to seed this season and reap the rewards for years to come.

Instead of being sure to place all the GDP in one location we spread it throughout the crop, not really a smart move, especially in a location that is not easy to access. Combine this with being to damn lazy to head out into the field at 2am and you end up with a harvest completely decimated by seeds. Out of our 4 spots spread throughout the field GDP males pollinated 3 of them.

We did accomplish our goal of seeding the GDP but unfortunately or fortunately depends on how you want to look at it we also pollinated a bunch of other strains including Blue Lemon, Jack, Jamaican Dream, Monster, TNT Kush and Cluster. I am trying to look at the positive side of this situation know that I now have a few accidental strains that could turn out to be something special.

What is the best way to store the thousands and thousands of seeds were going to end up with?

What should we do with the bud once the seed is removed, it still looks and smells like some high quality bud, and we will have 3-5 pounds of this to deal with. Would it be better to make hash or oil? Any easy tricks to removing the seeds from the bud?

We certainly won't be making such a rookie mistake again. All plants will be sexed before heading outside in any future grows, just like we have done every year before this one.

I would sort them by cross and store the seeds in small cobalt jars. I have a bunch of these I purchased on ebay for this purpose. I would put all the small jars into a larger jar or container with dessicant (silica packets) and put it in the fridge.

Save some seeds and sell the seedy buds for cheaper and sell the seeds and make some hash with it. In the end you can turn this into a good situation and make money off it if that is your goal. Plus you most likey have some nice new strains you just crossed all those strains with GDP which is a very good tasty strain.

Ya I'm really looking forward to seeing what I've created here, they were Kens GDP from Attitude so I know the quality is there. I now have a lifetime supply of GDP and GDP crosses and I'm happy about that, just wish I would have done things the right way. I could have still crossed all these strains without letting 75% of the harvest go to seed.

I will post some pics of the buds and seed once it's harvested.
