Can I start growing outdoors in September (Beach City area, Southern California)

My grandfather is in need of Marijuana, and thus would like me to help him start his own grow-op in the backyard. I would love to do so, as there is a hillside which is always exposed to the sun and is not visible to anyone else. But, I am aware that this is not the correct time to start a grow. Is it still possible?

Maybe if you use autos. You will be fighting mold and bud rot when rain starts coming.

Yes, you can grow. Many many small plants, covered in some sort of makeshift greenhouse. Yield will be small per plant, but you will get something, hence many many plants.

lol, you can get a nice harvest, if you thew them outside now.Shit this is Cali, We grow all year long.Jan, Feb, would be the time to take a brake outside, and get spring plants ready inside, then flower them outside.

2 years ago, I did 2 plants in October, and where done in December. Plants where just a foot tall each, and got a nice zip off each.

On rainy days I pulled them inside though.

I'm getting ready to do 12 plants outside, in October.When my other plants are done.They will be about two feet, when ready

Autos are those things we drive on the street lol j/k Seriously auto-flowering strains will flower during the winter months. I do it the traditional way, plant in spring, harvest in fall. But you are correct about being able to grow during the southern calif winter months as some years are milder than others.

Being on a hillside it maybe a little windy for a small polytunnel. Mind you I have one and I built a small frame round the bottom and buried the base of the frame. Its solid now and will extend your growing season by two months. HTH. Ps if you decide to get one then get a green galvanised tunnel, they are steonger and keeps prying eyes away. Grow some veg inside also to diguise your plants.
