Racial Makeup of the USA

White persons, percent, 2011 (a)78.1%
Black persons, percent, 2011 (a)13.1%
American Indian and Alaska Native persons, percent, 2011 (a)1.2%
Asian persons, percent, 2011 (a)5.0%
Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander persons, percent, 2011 (a)0.2%
Persons of Hispanic or Latino Origin, percent, 2011 (b) 16.7%

Actually looks like the independents have a racial representation that more accurately follows the racial makeup of the nation.

The Dems over represent Blacks, I know most black people are told from a young age that they are Democrats so many don't know better. The dems also UNDER represent whites.

Republicans WAY over-represent whites since it is 90% white people.

Parties don't pick the people that join them, the people pick the party to join.

Dr.'s warned the govt of the cost of too much sugar.
Well they asked the sugar industry to warn the public of the danger of too much sugar in the diet.....
they asked the soft drink companies to warn.......
We went up in arms over the amount in cereal.....They caved and started to reduce the amount.
Now what should have been a regular class lesson in school "the dangers of Industry Marketing in a Free society" & "living healthy"
We now have to pay for Special Multi Media presentations of "Too much sugar in the diet".

We don't want to pay for education.....

Right, and keep in mind when these people drinking 64 ounces of Mountain Dew get sick and go to the doctor it raises healthcare costs for everyone.
Oh, so does all processed foods, white bread (enriched flour), rice, starchy foods like potatos. Heck, we all need to eat nothing but couscous and drink water.
that "has been deemed unhealthy for you, hence illegal. now lets go to taco bell while we listen to Oscar Meyer Weiner 50's commercials on the radio". (Referance to Demolition Man for you younger guys).

Gotta start somewhere.

I clicked on a link supplied by UB that had an ad from Chevron stating "Do you think Big Oil should support local schools? We Do!" "Click here if you agree" that's just too close to home........:finger:
Yes Grandpapy. Potter says that any commercial that isn't directly selling a product is a part of a PR campagin. Most of them are through front groups so you never know who is interest in "changing your mind" but it is changed, constantly, with or without your consent.

A NICE person doesn't concern themselves with what others do or do not consume. They respect other persons rights to control their own bodies and live with the result of their decisions. If "normal" is telling others what to do, that seems to be the same "logic" used by pot prohibitionists...
Nor does a "Nice" Corp.

I can't believe how some of you wacko lefties on here whine and cry about how the government should let us grow and smoke all the pot we want, because it's our constitutional right, but defend a dumb ass law telling people how big of a fucking soda they can drink!

Does that mean you believe that pot is bad for you beenthere?

So how about no one is allowed to drive anymore? After all driving causes accidents that kill tens of thousands a year. How many people die in a year due solely to soda? While we are at it no one is allowed to leave their homes anymore, ever. This will cut down on crime since no one will be able to go anywhere, if you aren't for these measures that I propose than you must be for crime and car accidents and are an evil bad bad person who needs government to come down on you like a 2 ton heavy thing.

Corporations exist thru the magic of government don't they?

No person or fictitious creation (corporation or government) should tell others what they can or cannot do with their own bodies as long as they aren't doing it to OTHERS bodies that do not consent. Best to leave others alone, no?

Wow, really?

I've always preferred freedom to regulation.

Maybe the vendors could just sell two 32 ouncers for the same price their old 64 used to cost. Then what, we just ban soda all together? Who gets to draw the line and say when enough is enough? What "crap" do you do daily that someone wants to ban and how would you feel about that?

What country is this again?

But I won't get too excited because tomorrow my day will still be the same. The joys of living outside the walls of society. You guys have fun telling each other what to do tomorrow.
Another one who believes that freedom is being able to purchase something. It has gotten pretty bad in this country, corporations really have managed to influence us to think that an abiliity to chose between one of their products and another constitutes freedom in this country. That the option to purchase equates to freedom is nowhere in the Constitution yet here it is in the public mind.

Of course being able to purchase something is a COMPONENT of freedom.

The constitution doesn't list all freedoms or rights, I think it alleges to show the limits of government....Of course it didn't work, but the thought was nice.

I must say I feel like a used lotto ticket on the side of the road being sucked up in the back draft of a tractor trailer.

It doesn't list any that I am aware of. It mentions a few in the bill of rights as pertaining to government not having the power to affect those rights, but it doesn't actually list rights anywhere.

To the both of you, if you haven't yet. Watch Idiocracy. That is the future of America summed up in one movie.

It's funny now, but I really think that's how we're going to end up. Not some super peaceful civilization with flying cars, laser guns and shit. We're too stupid, too separated now. Fight about dumb shit like "my party is better than your party". We're going to be a bunch of tards wearing clothes that are littered with logos, watching a show called "Ow, my balls" laughing our asses off.
