Yet again, repubs have no regard for anything but their obstructionism, not the full faith and credit of the U.S., not the people, not jobs, not reputation, not the economy.

Of course they do care for their bedmates and true masters, the rich.

Someone on the right please tell me why it is more important that the rich be spared from a tax hike - or even retention of the Bush tax break, than the country be set on a reasonable fiscal course?

Please, anyone, explain why it is more important that the rich be accomodated than the rest of the country be saved?

Truth is that the curtain is more transparent than it used to be - Boehner is not leading his group, he is being ignored or perhaps even dictated to.

the same with Romney, he is a construct of the money that backs him, every time he strays off message he is corrected, not in private but through statements from his campaign. It seems that those folks that are running Romney and perhaps Boehner are emboldened by the sucess of Romney's getting away with outright lies - they have realized that no one is paying attention and are becomming more and more forward in their actions.

It all smells very fishy - I hope for all our sake it all fails.

Congress is split into two branches my friend, why doesn't the senate care about jobs and the economy, why don't they stop playing politics and admit we must make tough cuts and pass a damn budget?

Increasing taxes won't do shit for the massive debt we have moron, every astute economist agrees we should NOT increase taxes on the job producers during a bad economy, go take an econ class.

"tough cuts"? why does it have to be the poor that bears the brunt of the tax cuts made necessary by a previous administration? It was the rich that most benifited by the policies of the previous administration and now you presume that they should continue receiving those benifits while the rest suffer. The deadlock in congress is that very thing. It is not the dems that are preventing a compromise, it is the repubs.

Now I have yet to call you a moron, or any other sort of personal insult, your doing so in my case does not serve to bolster your argument.

This ongoing refrain over "not increasing taxes on the 'job creators' is the same sad, sorry one that the right has used for decades, and it is as evident now as it was then that further tax adjustments will not get those 'job creators' to 'create jobs'. You say it over and over again. Tax cuts have not created jobs, we have seen those tax cuts for years and they do nothing. Let us look at a simple example - Romney. He has tens of millions of dollars in overseas accounts. That money does not serve to create jobs. Should we offer even more tax cuts to him, the money he saves will serve to create no more jobs than have already been created by his overseas wealth - none.

I have taken enough econ classes to see that simple fact. So long as we are suggesting learning, you might want to take some classes in recent history.

Althor, If I recollect correctly, the right insisted that no taxes were to be raised on the wealthy and that was their bottom line, Obama was not able to accept the terms of this hard line. I suspect that you weren't following the proceedings.
