I have heard rain water is the best thing to use - do you think that will be the best option until i can get a Ph kit or should i leave tap water out for 2 - 3 days?

if you are misting the leaves while the lights are on the water magnifys the lights and burns your leaves resulting in dead or crispy leaves. dont mist while lights are on. i had the same problem than i stopped and everything got better

Rain water?? hmmm i dont know about that to tell u the truth, but it maybe better but it might be worse too. alot of polution goes into the air and create acid rain but don't quote me on that.

I've used nothing but rain water since they started flowering. I have had no problems. I collect it in buckets from the valleys on my roof, no shit filled gutters. Rain water has a ton of micronutes that you have to add back with RO water. I don't live anywhere near a pollution filled environment. I'm fed with the great white north. I use the recomended amounts of nutes and about 2-3 tblspoons of mollasses....

You are taking a risk. The Ph could be fine or it could be royally F-ed up either way, but you sound like a gambling man. In your situation I'd go with the rainwater.

That said, just get a meter. Aquarium store, a store with pool supplies, ebay, hydro shop, etc.

Pure rainwater, or, more accurately, rainwater unpolluted by any man-made
products, has a pH of 5.5 to 6 or so, rather than 7, because it absorbs
some carbon dioxide from the air. Part of the dissolved CO2 reacts with
the water to produce carbonic acid.

looks to me that you might have nute lockout or your light is too close... try flushing and lifting your light another foot and see what happens.

For starters, never use halogen lights. They are not fit for growing(like you didn't know that) Be sure to have control of your PH and EC.(too high or too low you might kill your plant) = Not Preferable, lol:mrgreen: dont know what the policy here is for posting links, so mail me at [email protected] and ill hook you up with a good book and maybe a few good "teaching films".bongsmilie:leaf: Peace:peace:
