if you set up a closet with the 400w hps and all the exhaust fan circulation fan everything you could probably toss 6-9 plants under it easily depending on the size of the plant, you will have to learn how to use the light properly as for color temp if you buy a 400w set up all you need to know is metal halide for veg and high pressure sodium for flower. or daylight cfl for veg.

good info thx. Ive been lookin on some seed banks. Does anyone recommend any? I've been looking into some auto-flower feminized seeds for a short closet grow. Or is auto-flower not the way to go since its basically a weed mutt.

you could get the hps and veg with it or get a mh conversion bulb for it and veg with the same light. a 400 watt does not cost much to run but yea cfl veg nice too if you keep em close your hps though should be 12" away. a ballast makes it all possible it regulates the flow of power yes

ballasts limit the current in the circuit, right? If not I have no idea what they are lol. I'm gunna order that kit I think tussel.

The 400w kit would be good for 5-6 plants?

Also, what's this talk about 2700k/6500k ? Color Temp? Do i need a full spectrum? Hows all the color light stuff work if you all dont mind me asking. Or should I just stick with CFL to veg and HPS to flower for starters?

oh what do you know, I type seeds and it auto links it for me for what I was asking. Right on.

I've been looking into some auto-flowering feminized seeds to do a short grow period. But they're basically weed mutts.

Pros: Short, Fast, Don't have to worry about making it flower.

Cons: It's a mix, less yield.

yea that was kindof upsetting but for a first grow and for the expireance of growing sure if you really want to but some one needs to tell the poor guy what he has got there, I may have been a little rude but I think I got my point accross and made up for it now

Lol Yea I can tell it's a hermie now also, but it's okay, I havent had any flowering experience or harvesting experience so hopfully learn on the shitty plant before I order good seeds

It's either order some or use some from the shitty weed available in alabama. Lol.

I never got into auto's they are bred with crap and it's easy to set a timer to 12/12 I would actually recomend bag seed over autos at least for one more grow with your new set up just for the expierence honestly bagseed can turn out pretty dank if its not a herm and properly cared for. gives you more time to practice too before spending money on seed. you will want to look into toping or lsting plants as with a horizantal light you want a even canopy

Ive grown out some pretty dank herb from shitty brickweed bag seed and your current grow is not going to be anything compared to growing with enough light. you will see your first grow with a real light. I suggest following a recipe, grow 4 nodes cut the top of grow 2 more nodes and top anything that is uneven and wait a week then flower and that should give you a good idea of whats going on. you will only veg like 5 weeks keep your light 10-12" away and water only when needed, start seed in 2" pot at end of week 2 move to 6" pot end of week 4 move to 8" pot flower end of week 5. flower 8-14 weeks

Not sure what your asking but I will try to answer youmight pop over to hydro thread but in hydro you are constantly airateing the revoir so your roots get the oxygen they need buy in soil you don't have that the water you put in is the water you put in

You might need calcium for the weak stem. A nice home remedy is eggshells. You can blend them until powdery then mix in water

Agree 100% on the seed. I have 2 indicas grown from seeds given to my grown daughter who passed them to me. Absolutely beautiful and a surprise every day. Unlike the SSH and WW going which I know what to expect. The 2 will be ready in about 2-3 weeks.
