epsom salt? whats wrong?

Actually, Epsom isn't very dense. A gram per liter is a good dosing, and a gram is most of a teaspoon. I always weigh the stuff. cn

No worries. They are not my plants however. (and how can I resist) Don't use Epson ... at least use Hewlett-Packard or Canon. ~grin~ cn

i jus sprinkled some salt on top of soil n watered. i measured ph with the color by eye (color changing drops) and id say 7.5 maybe even 8. so i think a ph adjustment is n order, even if they have recieved it all season. how do i buy enough "ph down" for all my plants waterings tho? lol

If you play with pH-down, please have a battery-operated pH meter. It's a sensitive titration and one can very quickly overshoot.

Sprinkling, then watering in ... oh not recommended. You'll have blazing-hot spots with a lot of ionic vacuum in between. The roots; they scream. cn

You cannot do pH adjustment by a preset quantity. Part of the problem is buffering, notably by bicarbonate in the water. Note the buffer curve below. Add acid ... nothing, nothing, a little something, a little more ... wham.
You want to hit the upper part of the steep section, which means that it's very easy to overshoot into very sour territory. cn

weirdest thing... decided to test water from hose BEFORE i let it sit 24 hrs like i was told to evaporate chlorine and ph was at about 7. awesome! just use fresh hose water. but is that chlorine going in my plants? why did it change so drastically (bout 1.5 drop) by NOT letting it sit out? could this maybe be worse? feel free to answer but i feel this should be a whole new thread but cn read my mind and commented on ph.

Just a thought....but could that thing be root bound? It's pretty big and the pot doesn't look to be 5 gallons or bigger...? I would damn near flush it out and get a fresh base to start from. that thing doesn't look so hot bro...lol

Oh, and You can get Breher Rabbit Black Strap molasses at walmart. Make sure it's black strap and unsulfated. That's what I have, I use it every other watering and I hven't had any problems yet. I'm 3 weeks into flowering now and I've got 1 plant molassesed and one plant not, everything else the same. We'll see what happens. I surely hope it's gonna make the buds push a little more resin and such.
