For example/experiment time; Take a glass of water. Plain old water. Take a cutting (with the right steps to make a normal clone) and stick it in the cup of water with the leaves NOT submerged. Put it under a light with NO AIR STONES and see if you get roots. Did you use any oxygen????? why how could you? did you get roots? Well if you did everything right you should! WITH NO AIR? IMPOSSRRRIIIIBBBUUUULLLLLLL!!!!

Thanks. Built a small aeroponics cloner and building a bigger to just clone. Neoprene rings really are hard to position and the rockwool cubes look easier to stabilize and more protective. NO aeroponics cloning experience until now and very open to "here's how, dumbass". Always into pure water until roots appear, then peat plugs under a dome a few days under CFL with great success. Then right into the dirt.

Ive never had a problem with the neoprene rings. I guess its a case of buying the correct size hole cutter for your drill. I found a really cheap set of hole saw bits on ebay.

The cuttings are taken exactly the same. If using rockwool the spray heads will keep the cubes wet. The roots will begin to appear in about 7-10 days. They'll grow through the cube. I would defo keep the plastic wrap on them or you'll damage the roots everytime you remove them from the cloner. I prefer the neoprene, the clones are easier to remove and put back.

I bought the pre-cut before and, honestly, never thought about cut-to-fit. Started with neoprene because of its stability/firmness. Thanks, that helps.

I bought pre cut neoprene collars too. I just cut my own lid for my DIY aero.... I'm a little confuse as to what you mean cool if Ive helped. lol

I just cloned some Sensi haze x Northern lights.....I used clonex solution and clonex that comes in the form of a blue gel in a small bottle (have had it for over 3 years). Uses Burpee coco blocks...I put it in a cheap jiffe plastic container and set the temp at 80F. Since I had no place to put it outher than with other plants that are under 6500K 22w tubes (4) I had to cut the light down by by using saran wrap (laped it over the top of the grow container). Left it alone for 7 days and I had 8 out of 8 root. Next experiment: use no clonex at all. Haze seems to be user friendly because I had same results with Sannies Sugar Punch...however Sweet (seeds) Cream was only about 50%. PS I used rockwool to draw up the water into the coco.

I'm in Alaska and somewhat isolated. Dependent on outside help if you know what I mean. New totally to hydro and aero after years of soil (and still do soil for my best stuff IMO). You read one thing and then another. So I also have to order - a pig in a poke. Ordered a sheet of neoprene. I made my net cups on purpose but quickly realized nothing standard fit. A 3 -3/4" hole saw and supposed 4" plastic cups sank to the rim. Then the 4" neoprene collars went too far down to wedge and put it under the solution. Then of course I put on the biggest pump I could find through 2 14" airstones Gorilla Glued directly under the roots and it floated the collars up bobbing like a buoy. I work a lot and so tired my mind went screwy and I gave up and wrote you guys. Thanks! I ordered some 30 MM neoprene and will glue together if needed but make them fit these Budweiser cups or else. One goal - to do it for under $40 for an 8 unit DWC and an aero clone unit for the same amount. So far so good but it's cut-to-fit time.

Just received my 360 degree mist tips - $12.99 for 50. Replace the Lowes garden misters now. The mister works but is still a work-in-progress. So much good info here. Laughing at somebody who would pay hundreds for a simple mister but understanding many might not want part of this fun.
