Just kidding.

But kaendar, look at it this way.

It's wrong for somebody to take away your rights to say gay marriage is wrong right? Well in that sense, it's wrong for you to take away somebody's view on a certain race.
Nah.. call it wat u want, but any white that calls a black nigger deserves to be set free in the woods, hunted by hounds, bound to a post, and whipped 20 times, then have salt poured in the wounds.

I think I understand that viewpoint, but I believe that the effort to own it causes more harm than good. It remains divisive when we should be emphasizing commonality, esp. with as much outright bigotry and racism still has force in our supposedly modern society. Jmo. cn
Black people gave it a new meaning in their culture, nobody gets upset when one back guy calls another black guy "my nigga", but when a white guy says it, it gives it a whole new meaning and that's the way it gets its original meaning. Most white people are scared to even attempt to say it around back people because of it's pass and to not get their ass beat lol.

Again, I don't explain stuff no good, it's one of them things where either you get it or you don't. I just don't see anyone making a big deal about it anymore ever since the black people took control of it.

Lolz sorry, U know who Hepheastus was right. It was a joke about ur screen name. Ya never saw Clash of the Titan's Hepheastus is the blacksmith of the gods and the son of Zeus and Hera. He made the helmet, sword, and the metal bird for Perseus. I studied quite a bit of Greek and Norse Mythology.

And I guess u haven't seen "The Elephant Man" either huh.

I get upset because I see a subtext. The argument that it is empowering is seductive, and the novelty value of using a formerly forbidden term is certainly intoxicating ... but in the long run, I see only division and entrenchment of perceived and to an extent manufactured difference. I wonder if I am in the (sic!) minority with that sentiment. cn

Youre on the money lol. We say it to eachother as a term of endearment and personal relation... if a white guy says it, even in a totally non racist way (whatsup my niggas) he will at least get a stern warning. If a white guys says it in a racist way and doesnt escape fast enuf, well I can assure you he will regret it.

how do rights of marriage equate to views/opinions of a racist, one is about as tangle as possible for a concept and the other is literally your own delusional thinking(meaning you are personally responsible for how you think and how you treat others, but the rights of marriage for same sex couples is completely in our hands as citizens of the states and federal governments that allow these kinds of rituals

I guess you would have to be black to know this, but its a part of our culture. Its how we identify with eachother universally.

If you're honest about it, a big attraction is "we get to and you don't; nyaah nyaah". cn

I KNEW you were my father! ;)
While laying out in the front yard (1972) with my bud "mike" watching the clouds in the sky go by, We got into a banter about something and I called him a nigger, well we got into it, swinging, yelling, then dad comes out the front door, "what the hell is going on here!" Mike says "he called me a nigger!" dad looks at me and then back at Michael says, "carry on".

I was thirteen, mike 15, Best lesson my father taught me.

Remember what I said about being on the receiving end of ethnic slurs. I do not claim a spurious birthright to my ethnic booster society, and hoo boy, they're out there. cn
