So I've been thinking of what I'll choose for the poll. At first I was gonna say incest is not ok for ME because it just creeps me the fuck out.. And then you always run the chances of a handicap baby.. But the thought of two hot twins made me choose yes. I am ashamed.

Well the problem is there's no cut and dry answer to it because it's NOT similar to gay marriage, and that's what's being compared here. In gay marriage (for the millionth time, OP) it's between two consenting adults. Incest can be an adult and a child, which wouldn't be consensual. It also has the issue of birth defects for any children created from the relationship, which obviously harms an innocent third party. BUT, if it's between two consenting adults and one or both of them is sterilized, fuck it. I don't care what people wanna do behind closed doors if they're not hurting anyone.

Its not being compared to gay marriage.. who told you that? And for the millionth time, pretty white girl, the issue isnt the form of marriage, the issue is that if one group gets the definition of marriage changed, then other groups will want the same as well. This isnt about comparing gay marriage to incest.

It's not a particularly old not-tradition, then. Congress passed the Defense of Marriage Act in 1996 in direct response to pressure applied to the republican candidates and incumbents, and no partial credit will be awarded toward guessing which lobbies got that one going. I think it's worthwhile to get that bit of fundie-ramrodded law overturned, and a casual Google search suggests a trip to SCOTUS for repeal in the foreseeable future. Societies and mores evolve, to the lasting embarrassment of those who'd like our civil lives to be subject to human interpretations of religious edict. My opinion. cn

Polygamists, incestual couples, men marrying underage girls, ppl marrying animals (already happening in the US) etc. Its already being done, but not nearly as publicized as gay marriage.

You cant always be right bear, its very true. Maybe you dont watch the news, but im getting tired of seeing ppl marrying there horses, then complaining that the state wont recognize it as a legitimate union.
