Nervous to top lol

Look. The plant lives to survive. Period. It is a very forgiving mistress. Hydroponics? Different story with EC and pH and instant death. In dirt don't overwater, don't overnute, don't overwater, use plenty of light, don't overwater. Ad infinitum. Feed, water, water. Feed, water, water. One time a week in 5 gallon containers in average conditions.

I just pinch the thing and never have a set back. No sterile blade (for my psilocybin crops yes!) or anything else. Pinch HIGH - right under the bud base. Leave as much stem as possible and it will heal itself quickly and cease demand on a growing plant. Never had one say ouch. I tie tall sativas sideways after topping 4 to 6 times and braid them like a grapevine. I then keep topping the sidebud tips. The yield is killer and it has a lot of nice top colas from base to tip. Outside tie it to a big pumpkin vine for a while and nobody will spot it unless they stumble on it or do it themselves. Pinch.

hi sabarius

i don't think you should top the plant yet, i would wait till you have 3-4 more nodes and then top the plant at node 3-4

lst the 3-4 nodes and this will make the plant bush out a lot

your plant is still small and may be a little to early to top imo

i think im going to top 1 of them and let the others keep going to see how it does

I always just pinch, pluck or pull off the topmost part where I want it to split into 2..No scissors, no measuring, no way to get it wrong...when you remove the top of a branching plant it will create 2 new tops...

I top as soon as I have 3 nodes..I top it back to the first set of true leaves...so back to the first node...Never had any topping related issues.

i was not saying it would not work, topping the plant now

but if you let the plant grow and then top the plant, you could have 4-6 main bud sites on each plant close to the light to increase your yeild

Top it young, right above the first true leaf set and keep topping it 3 or 4 times. Every single tip that would yield bud gets pinched. You'll have way more than 4 to 6. Look around on this site! Big bud or overall bud yield for quality and weight? Decide.

hi hotrodharley

not sure topping a plant 4-5 time will increase yeild but will cause a lot of stress
good luck if you do this on you plants and be careful what strain you do this to as
some stain's shouldn't really be topped and other strain's will go Hermie if you stress them to much
