Its the whole premise of equal rights. If gays can marry, why cant a brother marry his sister, they are consenting right? Its a slippery slope. It only goes downhill.
No, man, it's not a slippery slope. That is a talking point that doesn't make any sense when analyzed. A brother and sister, lets use that example. Why would it be wrong if they got married? Because we know that if they were to have kids, there is a good chance that those kids would end up with genetic issues. That alone justifies putting it in a separate category. Same with animals, children, and people unfit to give consent.

But polygamy, what is inherently wrong with that if it's among consenting adults? Why should religious people have the right to define what constitutes a marriage under United States law? Why should religious values be injected into American law at all? Is that not discriminatory against those of us that are not religious or follow a different religion with different religious values?

All I did was look at this post and I saw the word religion over and over again. Religion has nothing to do with my personal reasoning. I dont think anybody needs religion to know that it is disgusting to marry and have sex with a sibling.

I still dont see how this effects you at all
Who the fuck cares if it effects me. This isnt a personal issue, this is the issue of ppl shouldnt be doing shit that isnt right. A complete stranger getting murdered doesnt effect you, does that make it right? A girl on the other side of the world gets raped, you dont know her so it doesnt effect you, so its right? Thats your logic dude.

I will disagree ... your reasoning is entirely anchored to religion and its unique and counterintuitive concept that morality is fixed. Disregarding the doctrinaires for a moment, morality is the result of societal negotiation. That's why each religion has a subtly different moral compass than its competitors, and that's also why morality evolves. Naturally, this offends those who claim that truth is revealed and not acquired. cn

Ill ask you this too. Would you fuck your sister or your mom or dad? Would you marry and have sex with an animal?

So you're back to equating homosexual sex with incestuous relationships,

and homosexual marriage with marrying your dog.
