some percentage of the population are indeed "gay", by todays definition. Altho, like in all biology, phenotypes are often unrelated to genotypes, AND there is a distribution of qualities. Current language is just a prison cell anyway. Lots of people associtioning to be gay have just had bad luck with opposite sex, dont' really know who they are due to socital brainwashing, and are just seeking to belong in some group, and some are bad people on the inside because they dont' really know who the fuck they are.
Native americans let many "alternative" groups co-exist sucessfully within their culture. They didnt just have an all-inclusive "gay" categorization for them.....because that would be stupid

Im heterosexual, and there is no conflict with that because I got 8 inches and 2 balls between my legs. When I say being gay is a choice, I dont mean that its a concious choice. Its a subconscious choice. For example, I have a foot fetish. I wasnt born that way, but at some point in time during my youth I started finding feet a sexy part of a women. Didnt really make a conscious choice to start liking it, but I do make the conscious choice to act on those feelings.

fetishes are from "mis-wired" brain connections that connect non-sexual things with "getting off". They also tend to lose effect over time and need to become more intense ( first its looking feet, then licking feet, then stabbing feet, then storing feet in your fridge..quoth the fat bastard...its a vicious cycle..)
