yes, that is a futon mattress. been sleeping out there nearly two months now. fucking neighborhood kids swiped some veg plants form me in may and i'm not taking any chances with the rest. i plan on pranking the shit out of the kids but only after harvest is safely in. revenge is best served cold.

I feel your pain. My husband and I spent 2 days and considerable expense planting a row of 20 arborvitae trees in front of one of our properties. I lovingly mulched them and watered them every few days. They were doing so well that we bought 20 more 2 weeks later and went to plant them, to continue the row, and the first ones had all been stolen. Needless to say, they are still in the containers since May. Which is maybe a good thing in this heat wave. They are in filtered shade on my deck until I can figure a safe place to plant them.

Yes, we were dunbstruck. We reported it to the sherriff and the deputy actually canvassed the area and there was a witness who saw a couple pull up in a pick up around midnight, pull the trees, throw them in the bed of the pickup and drive away. Apparantly this was a planned heist and not just some vandalism by bored kids. I still can't believe it. We live in a very rural area but have since found out that there is an enormous amount of crime in the area and the small town is currently enjoying a curfew. I thought we left NYC to get away from all that!
