No kidding? For those long range applications i pull out the beret 98 bravo
lucky you with the .416.Shame California banned the .50. Parts of the Mojave simply ache for 2000-yard shenanigans.
I briefly owned a .416 Barrett, but had to sell it when my domestic situation sprung a seam. cn
No kidding?
Does it look anything like this?
I sort of always wanted one deep down but never knew if I could pull off that style. .
No but seriously not to be a dick but it says barrett on the side of your gun. unless they make cheap chinese knockoffs called berets now. ps : i'm totally jelly.
The thing that is fun is shooting. For me that means paper target or plinking. Tagging a full Pepsi can at 200 yards with a small fast rifle bullet (personal fave: a 50-grain varmint pill from a .223 Ackley) is just plain cool.Gotta take issue with a statement on the first page of this thread..."guns are fun"
How are guns "fun"? They are made for killing. Personally I have no reason to own one. If I felt I needed one for protection, I'd have one grudgingly, and if someone feels they need one for protection, I have no issue with that.
But I think just owning a gun opens up the possibility of something bad happening. I live in a good neighborhood, don't associate with people who own or carry guns, and I don't hunt. If I were to get robbed someplace at gunpoint, I'd probably rather just hand over cash than get in a shootout. It would end badly likely for both of us. Just ain't worth it IMO
Gotta agree with you buddy. Ain't nothing quite like dancing a soda can with your weapon of choice. Clay shooting is a fun SPORT too. The shooting feat than is most impressive and challenging to most, including myself, is long and i mean LONG range shooting. The thing that is fun is shooting. Most dedicated target guns are not so suitable for defense/quasimilitary applications or hunting larger game. cn
I will third this statement. All the guns I own were bought for the sole purpose of target shooting. If I happen to need it at home then its there otherwise its just fun for me. I do enjoy hunting tho so I've got one that was bought with that in mind but I still do more target shooting with it than hunting.Gotta agree with you buddy. Then throw in a couple buddies competing to make the same shot and a few friendly wagers.
Shooting is DEFINITELY fun imo.
That's one of the great things about guns. They are multi-use tools. Recreation, defense, investment (they hold their value well), etc.I will third this statement. ALWAYS wear good hearing protection. i have 30% left and 50% right hearing loss likely due to many years of shooting unprotected.Just got back from shooting my buddies Ar-15 loud as a mofucka lol and his 308. I find it quite entertaining.
Same. I only recently started wearing muffs but I fear it may be too late. And yeah that ar is fun as fuck. My buddy has one its so nice.ALWAYS wear good hearing protection. i have 30% left and 50% right hearing loss likely due to many years of shooting unprotected.
