First grow, first journal. CFL

I've been posting in the newbie and indoor section, and figured ahh what the hell, ill start my journal.
ive built this cabin and got the idea from a diy post i saw on here, a few members have given me some advice, and to me its lookin ok.
we are on day six and my babies are just starting to sprout! i also have 1 outside but i live in northern california so im a little late.( i need to get a few more cfls, as youll see in my pics) once i get more, i think i will bring it inside. feel free to comment!!!

heres the cabin inside my closet, cant get much better size for what im trying to accomplish!!


heres a good shot of the inside of the cabin. (i had foil on it, but tranceus recommended i use emergency blankets, so i measured and cut the cardboard to fit, wrapped the panels with the cut emergency blankets.) WALAA! haha i know ive got 2 lamps in there, lookes kinda whack, but im going today to buy splitters so i can hang them. dont hate haha


here is 2 godfather og seeds, beginning to sprout!!! HOLLA!

Looks cool how much watts you running my setup is also kinda ghetto with desklamps and shit im using about 90 watts cfl and 36 tube for my first indoor grow . Those lights sitting vertically are`nt gunna do much idealy you want your cfls mounted sideways or at 30 degrees with some kind of reflective material or get some clamp reflectors . Oh now i see you `re getting splitters awesome this should do for now will follow goodluck dude peace .

good lookin bro, yea im actually gonna go grab some food and grab those splitters. i think the light above the cups is 36 watt, the daylight one one the left is 26 watt and the more yellow, well thats irrelavent i think lol. does anyone have any suggestions on a cool way to button up the front in a cool way? i think ive got a pretty cool idea, ill surprise everyone tonight or tomorrow morning!

little update: i went and grabbed a Y splitter and a spray bottle.

Okay looks way better and will work realy efficent you could even create reflectors outta tins if you want . Your medium also looks nice and your soil permeable without too much bark in it so those seedlings should shoot up soon goodluck bro .

Thank you, where should i put the reflectors after i make them?

Put them on those two that are hanging like from each can make a reflector for each one . It`s not so important but does help since all the light the bulb gives off from the other side is reflector seems to help the nodes develop faster . The instructions for making them can be found on here somewhere .

i saw a DIY tut. on making the reflectors out of energy drink can, so i think ill give it a shot

Yeh it`s easy did it in the begining of my grow well just cut a piece of a can off and grew 3 plant`s till about 3 weeks with one 26 watt so it seems to be worth the effort .

Probably overwatering because you have enough light for now and it`s in close enough proximity to the plants . So just ease up on the watering and they should pop right up again i could be wrong though .

so we're on day 3 after sprouting, thought an update would be proper. so ive got the overwatering situiation under control. now just curious as to when i should be moving them to bigger pots?


also here is one of my outdoor, the seed was planted a few days earlier

Nice looking seedlings they starting grow the one in the first pic kinda looks indica dominant already lol . I`d say they`ll be able to live in those cups till like 2-3 set of true leaves . Everything looks fine fine lights in close proximity to foliage and they can start vegging fine this part is the most boring for me waiting for that first set of tue leaves to apear . peace .

went out this morning and bough 2 more splitters and 2 more 26 watt 6500k cfls, also since i was a little late for outdoor, i bought some ocean forest soil and perlite and put her in some new soil, and a new pot, moved her inside.


i also put in a radio and a little classical music on for the hopeful ladies.

Looking good you`ll see now that the plants will start swaying and sort of dancing to the tunes this stimulates stem growth and makes them grow faster . Jokes but it does help so it`s an awesome addition . 100 watts for vegging is awesome and you got the perfect spectrum so after the seedlings are established you should start seeing some rapid growth . Great job bro . The leaves already look propped up and plants look bigger it looks sophisticated realy nice little build the nodes should grow nicely now when they get a little bigger . What strain are you trying to germ now dude ?

Thanks homie, means alot. i dont have any germinating right now, but all of the plants i have going now are all Godfather OG!!!
